Title: Email Etiquette Rant
Post by: cyrus buelton on July 28, 2009, 12:12:12 PM
I am so sick of people at working being jackass's when it comes to email use.

1. If an email is sent out to the entire office distribution, why must you reply to all with a lame ass stupid question? Then after you realize you were a dumbass, you try to recall it. See below.

2. Before you send an email, make sure the content is what you want. Don't use that cheesy ass "recall" feature in Outlook that barely works.

3. Don't use that make the beast with two backsing "message read" attachment; I am never going to say I read it. I will answer your email when I am god damn good and ready to.

4. "thx" is not proper in an email. We are not circa 2002 on a motorola razor phone.

5. Don't try and make the beast with two backs me over with some content of an email that was sent 3 years ago; I have all my emails since my first day of employment. That is why my .pst file is almost 15gb.

6. Quotes in your signature block is really really gay. I don't need to know your favorite bible verse or your stupid motivational quote of the day.

7. Being "cool" with your name in your signature block in that cursive font is really stupid.

Maybe you should add a signature to your email to make you feel better. Some thing like "I'm a douchebag" in Korean.

I had to read that twice. I thought is was about a team of doctors who perform certain operations. [laugh]

"work" not "working"

jackass's is possessive, I assume you mean plural: jackasses

In stead of "'thx' is not proper...," use "'thx' is improper..."

Insert a comma between "really really"

Other than that, pretty good!   ;D

Maybe not common, but in stead is correct.

In stead may be correct in certain situations, but your use was grammatically "in correct"... ;D

Suggestion: make a new .pst file.  Your Outlook will perform better.  It doesn't really seem to handle >2GB files all that gracefully.  I make a new one every year.

Unless Motorola has developed a phone with which one can shave, it's called a "RAZR," not a "razor."

Oh, hey, this looks like fun.

See, the predicate was "Quotes" and not "block."  Block was the object of the preposition. Take out the preposition in case you are unsure: "quotes....are"

/pointless antagonism  ;D

Along with read receipts, which are some kind of electronic self esteem booster, I hate when people flag things for me.   Cutesy backgrounds, and replies that include attachments that were too big/unncecessary to begin with also deserve mention.

MsIncredible - It is partitioned into several files, I think 3. I was just stating the total mass size of them.
