I have these sweet new boots and I can't wear 'em because I don't have enough room to get my foot under the shifter. How do I adjust to make more space for my newly skid-protected toes?
-Dan
All bikes have a linkage that can be adjusted. Its the rod that connects between the engine and the pedal.
Looks like a mini ride height adjuster
One side is reverse threaded so dont apply too much force. Loosen the lock nuts and turn the center rod. This will change the spacing and allow your foot to have more clearance.
Good luck
Hey! Long time no see Razzo! On my shift lever (presumably stock but I have no idea) there is a single hex bolt holding it on. If I take this hex bolt all the way out I can then slide the brake lever off it's mount and remount it anyway I want, higher or lower. Before you take it off, take a sharpie and mark where it was so that you know how many teeth you want to rotate it up or down. I'm not sure about adjusting the link bar but you might have to. :P
Best if you adjust the linkage before you disconnect from the case.. Thats what the linkage is designed for.
Oh... Hehe, only time I've adjusted it is when I took it off to take the alternator cover off. :P
That adjustment is actually covered quite well in the owner's manual. If you don't have an owner's manual, download it here:

Howie, as usual, rockin' it.
