Title: Witnessed an accident today and narrowly avoided being involved in it
Post by: weemonster on August 01, 2009, 10:31:43 AM
Nice sunny day here in scotland so the roads were busy me and the g/f on way back from Ikea crossing the Forth Road Bridge when suddenly the traffic infront slows more than expected.

The VW Touran mini van infront of me wasn't paying atention and to avoid running into the back of the Mercedes wagon infront of it swerved into the other lane which was ocupied by a Butchers van.

The Touran got squished up the way and had both front wheels at least 19" in the air i though stuuff like that only hapened in films
I know this cos its wheel went over the top of the merc wagons 18" wheel tearing the tyre off the rim and chucking it back towards me. but missed. (The mirror mounted turn signal didnt miss my car but it didnt do any damage.)
That was about the time i shut my eyes and my g/f shrieked.

No one was hurt thankfully. I managed not to hit any of them.

took me a while to stop shaking. I wish my car had an onboard camera cos it was spectacular to see a minivan get air.

Can only hope you were both wearing brown underwear, or if it wasn't before, it is now!
