Highway 1 south of Monterey, that's 74 miles of twisties on the warning sign:

Highway 1 further south:

And most of the time the roads are so good that I can't bring myself to stop riding to take a photo. I'm like this the whole time: ;D

Last time I was on 1, the "Marine Layer" was so thick I could barely see past the end of the hood. :(

That happens sometimes. Then we just go inland a little ways and ride there. Something will always be good.

The coastal fog is heaviest in the summertime and lightest in the fall. [thumbsup]

Or the fukkin motorhome is using both lanes. >:(
Unless you really need to see the water there are much better roads than Highway 1/PCH.
Tonights ride...

I recognize Coal Creek Canyon (mmm Wonderview breakfast), Hwy 7 into Lyons (my all time fav) and Peak to Peak hwy. I swear the roads in CO are more fun than most anything I've ridden out here in Norcal so far. Only thing is that damn snow you get in the winter puts a little damper on things.
Bick, if you come out this way to have to visit Hwy 36 from Red Bluff to Fortuna. It's only ok :P

Highway 1 south of Carmel is "only" 74 miles of twisties, but they're some of the most beautiful anywhere, and wonderful to ride if you can get there early in the morning before there is much traffic. Do you think it means anything that your curve sign starts off to the left and this one starts off to the right?

Just means the road workers put one on backwards.

Yea, thats good. Just rub it in why don't you?
Ass.
:-*
I so wish!
Our best is about 20 miles of twisties, and it is 30-40 minutes away! Plus it is filled with people towing boats and tourists all day, and we all know how safe it is to go carving at 3am...
