Title: Yellow Colour Therapy Post by: ManOrAstro-Man? on August 03, 2009, 02:33:09 PM I finally installed the yellow colour therapy on the bike. Here's one picture. I know it's not a good picture, but I will take more later when I go out to fill up the tank.

Title: Re: Yellow Colour Therapy Post by: aespi on August 03, 2009, 03:43:32 PM Nice man! Congrats. This is the first one I've seen. Do you mind if I ask...how much did it set you back? And can you order select pieces or is it a set package?
Title: Re: Yellow Colour Therapy Post by: mstevens on August 03, 2009, 04:27:52 PM A dealer told me these are on backorder now.
I neglected to ask if that was only the yellow (which I want) or other colors, too. I'm going to go way out on a limb and guess the lavender is readily available. Title: Re: Yellow Colour Therapy Post by: rule62 on August 03, 2009, 08:56:48 PM best color ever
Title: Re: Yellow Colour Therapy Post by: ManOrAstro-Man? on August 03, 2009, 09:13:14 PM Hi,
I'm new to this forum, so don't know how to cut and paste your questions in my response. I'll just answer all questions below. As far as the price, it's $700 + tax for the entire set. Comes out to ~ $760 for me here in California. You cannot order specific parts. You have to get the entire set. In the first picture that I posted earlier today, the big cardboard box next to the bike was what these yellow parts came in. I honestly thought it would be more than $700 because that 80's tank that Ducati sold when the 696 first came out was already $472 just for the 2 tank panels. I just came back from the gas station to fill up the tank again (I installed the battery tender cables today also, so I wanted the tank to be close to empty before did that). Took some more pictures, but some came out crappy since it was night time already. Other than the color panels, it's completely stock (hate these stock mirrors, but will have to save some $ before I get Rizomas, but that's also another thread). :) (http://i132.photobucket.com/albums/q7/ducati_monster/public/yellow2.jpg) (http://i132.photobucket.com/albums/q7/ducati_monster/public/yellow4.jpg) (http://i132.photobucket.com/albums/q7/ducati_monster/public/yellow5.jpg) (http://i132.photobucket.com/albums/q7/ducati_monster/public/yellow6.jpg) (http://i132.photobucket.com/albums/q7/ducati_monster/public/yellow7.jpg) Title: Re: Yellow Colour Therapy Post by: moto-zen on August 03, 2009, 09:16:32 PM I have to admit. Title: Re: Yellow Colour Therapy Post by: DRKWNG on August 03, 2009, 11:42:53 PM The yellow looks really nice man! Now you need to set it off by putting on some carbon/dark silencers on it.
And by the way, I have an almost new pair of Rizoma Logic mirrors sitting in my garage that I don't plan on using. <hint hint> Title: Re: Yellow Colour Therapy Post by: Dannyboy on August 04, 2009, 02:20:44 AM Damn! Really have no need for the headlight cover. My wife's 696 has the red frame, so if I'm ever able to get a kit I could throw them on and take some pics. Frankly, I can't imagine that I'd like it. I'm not even sure one can get these kits at all right now - dealers tell me they're on back-order, but I'm still trying. Surely somebody would buy an unused headlight fairing, though. It'd be primary colors. Maybe superman themed?
Title: Re: Yellow Colour Therapy Post by: mstevens on August 11, 2009, 04:30:53 PM Well, I've now got a kit ordered in Giallo Ducati as of today. I think it'll go on the black-framed bike, though. The red one looks good in red. If I were ever to put different-colored panels on that one (which I wouldn't, since it's my wife's bike not mine), I think the silver would look really good.
Title: Re: Yellow Colour Therapy Post by: mstevens on August 11, 2009, 04:34:53 PM might look cool with this (http://ep.yimg.com/ca/I/motostrano_2063_38236446) It's a bit... busy. Title: Re: Yellow Colour Therapy Post by: ducatiz on August 11, 2009, 04:36:43 PM what is the name of the color? it looks like the "acid yellow" on the '05 S2Rs
Title: Re: Yellow Colour Therapy Post by: ManOrAstro-Man? on August 11, 2009, 05:00:17 PM The name as mstevens stated is Giallo (yellow in Italian).
Hey mstevens, congrats on the purchase. Did you end up paying the same amount I did (minus the tax of course)? Title: Re: Yellow Colour Therapy Post by: ducatiz on August 11, 2009, 05:02:59 PM The name as mstevens stated is Giallo (yellow in Italian). Ducati has used 4 different yellow tones since 2000. I was wondering if this was one of the previous ones or a new one. None of them are plain "yellow".. The color name for the S2R is "Acid Yellow" or "Giallo dell'acido" in the owner's manual. Title: Re: Yellow Colour Therapy Post by: ManOrAstro-Man? on August 11, 2009, 05:15:39 PM Didn't mean it to come out wrong. Just stating that mstevens mentioned the name of the color already.
I guess they went the simple route this time. Plain old yellow. If you wanted to order it, you just ask for Giallo. Title: Re: Yellow Colour Therapy Post by: mstevens on August 11, 2009, 05:45:37 PM The name as mstevens stated is Giallo (yellow in Italian). Hey mstevens, congrats on the purchase. Did you end up paying the same amount I did (minus the tax of course)? They said $699. There may have been a ".95" tacked on the end. We'll call it $700. I'm told they're on back-order, so we'll see how long it actually takes to show up. The parts guy (who's a Monster rider) initially recommended I just get my parts painted. (Well, actually the bike's parts. That came out sounding wrong.) He had some trouble believing when I told him I knew of a guy who'd gotten a set and sounded a bit excited when he called back to confirm the price. We talked a bit about the colors. I actually sort of liked the orange, too, but he pointed out people would think I was a deranged KTM nut if I put orange panels on a Duc. Yellow's a classic Ducati color (even if they've used 4 different versions. They've certainly used multiple reds and at least a couple of blacks). There's nothing wrong with my pearl white, but I wanted more color. Since my wife's bike is red, another red bike would be overkill even if it had a black frame. Besides, yellow's the fastest color. Unfortunately, I doubt that means it will be fast to arrive from Italy. Title: Re: Yellow Colour Therapy Post by: ManOrAstro-Man? on August 11, 2009, 09:13:17 PM Yeah, I think the orange would be my second choice.
I think Ducati did a poor job informing their dealers on this. Seems like the dealers have no clue when these kits were available. I had to ask 3 dealers before I ordered mine. It took ~ 3 weeks for mine to come in. I wouldn't doubt that it will take the same for your's. I doubt that they're on backorder. Title: Re: Yellow Colour Therapy Post by: causeofkaos on August 12, 2009, 10:00:54 AM apparently different colors are priced differently. The "silver " skins they consider a platinum color and a bit more in price, I was going to replace my flat silver 1100 skins (stock ones f*cked from wreck) with that set saving me several hundred instead of the flat silver mine comes with.

Interesting that different colors are priced differently. I also thought it was noteworthy that none of the stock colors are available this way. Thus, as happened with you, if you damage plastics and want to replace them in a stock color you could end up spending more. How much more were the silver? Title: Re: Yellow Colour Therapy Post by: causeofkaos on August 12, 2009, 12:38:20 PM i want to say it was 100 or 150 more like 850 before tax ( your results may very )
like i said the parts guy said more of a Platinum than a Silver, If i didnt have to spend 1000 on that digital display and it was only plastics damaged they would already be ordered. Ordered Tuesday, arrived Friday. Took about an hour to install (going more slowly than needed, in all likelihood.) For those curious about the color, there's a PPG paint code in the "instruction" pamphlet that might permit comparisons with other factory Ducati yellows. It's almost exactly the same as my HJC helmet, which I suspect is the same as Shoei Axis Yellow. It's 2AM, so no pics yet.

Totally different from the S2R color (PPG *0034) I'm not certain that that 0034 is PPG.I think it's Salchi. I think that Ducati had been using PPG for so long they neglected to change the vendor name in the manual when they strayed from PPG. If you look at the color for the S4Rt it is also a 4 character code, and it is listed as Salchi.
