This might be the most AMERICAN program EVER!

And by that I mean intentionally wasteful and self-serving.

Was just reading about that privacy agreement thing on another site.  Scary stuff.  I might start watchin fox more if they keep hiring "news anchors" like that girl. [thumbsup]

Just spoke to a friend that spent a good bit of time in the Army. He's a civilian business guy now but vividly remembers the lean times when he was a soldier with a family.
He pointed out that all these cars are being destroyed. Why not offer them to families of service men/women...
Why just destroy them?

Secondly, the biggest rip-off in the world is a brand new car! What else can you buy for $30k and next day it is worth $25k, IF YOU ARE LUCKY.

I never buy brand new...uhm...until the Monster. Ah well, every rule has an excfeption.

That is so completely utterly wasteful it makes me sick. Did you see the Expedition? Whether you like large SUVs or not that exterior/interior was in great shape, engine sounded healthy right up til they dropped water in it.

As a fan of all things mechanical, this just leaves a lump in my chest. I'd give you the scrap value of any of those, but that isn't the point. The point is to get affordable used cars/trucks off the road to restart our thoughtless over spending and boost the sales of over-priced junk coming out of Detroit so the govt. doesn't lose money on it investments... aw crap. 'scuse me I went political.

I meant to say I like cars and this bothers me.
