Hi there
new member
NavyDoc
I am at Camp Lejeune NC
I have a 2008 Monster S4RS Tricolore and 2008 Harley Night Rod Special - blacked out
Been riding 13 years
Favorite ride is Hwy 1 north of San Fran
Opinions about rearsets for the S4RS??? Anybody have any info on the marksavory rearsets - ? available? Looking forward to hearing thoughts on all things Monster....
Glad to be onboard.. [beer]
Welcome bud. [thumbsup] Taking good care of our Marines?
Nice bikes for sure. A guy at work has a 2008 Night Rod. When he said "that big rear tire really make it handle well" I couldn't let it go without saying No, it handles OK in spite of that 240 rear tire.
When you get some time bring that Ducati up here to the Blue Ridge.
Where you live the Rod's probably a better ride than the Ducati.
Thanks for your service. [thumbsup] [moto] [thumbsup]

Can't help you on the rearset information, but welcome to the family! Lots of great members here with a ton of information. Enjoy your stay.
Welcome NavyDoc, glad you've had a chance to check out the excellent NorCal roads. [thumbsup]
Good luck finding good rearsets.
BTW we'd love to see a picture of your bike if you get a chance. :)
Also don't forget to check out your local group, M-ROC (http://ducatimonsterforum.org/index.php?board=36.0).
Welcome "Shipmate". Awesome bike [thumbsup]
Doc as in Doctor or Corpsman? I'm an HM1 in Groton going through SubIDC school right now...
Welcome and ride safe. I have a job on base. Next time I visit I will stop by and say hello.
Thanks for the warm welcome from all !
I am an MD Navy Doc, it's nice to see some other Navy folks out there ! Congrats on IDC school. One of my boys is finishing up UMO school right now - J. Gordon.
My bike is in CA right now, having a few things swapped out at Hattar Motorsports - by far the coolest and yet most professional motorcycle shop I've ever come across in my 13 years of riding - those guys are simply awesome to deal with - highly recommended.
I am heading out to San Fran in 3 weeks for 9 days and am planning to ride hills and coastline everyday..... Have had a full Termi system, tail chop, ASV levers, and slipper clutch put on recently and now going to run it out over the hills.............. Nirvana.
I will post some pictures when I get back from the trip. 8)
Hey Doc, good to have you onboard. I'm at Lejeune as well right now, well for another week at least, then I'm off to the sandbox.
Its good to see another Duc around here. We'll have to start some sort of coastal Ducati club soon. I've already started to wear the tops of my tires flat...we have a pretty serious lack of curves down here.
We will have to ride sometime next year.
Awesome! Pretty sure I know who you're talking about. We see the UMOC's around the building, but they are on the 1st deck, we're on the ground floor.

Have a great time! If you want any company, please post up in the

Welcome NavyDoc,
Glad you found us. Happy to have you join our family.
Dolph :)
welcome.
Hey Doc, talked to Mr. Gordon today. He's getting ready to take his Triumph down to Pensacola for 9wks of Dive School. He didn't know who I could be talking about until I mentioned the Monster. Then he knew exactly who I was talking about and explained the conditions on which you acquired the Monster...
Nice. Gordon's a good dude. Don't envy him that trip on that triumph though, that things a pig... He'll graduate oneday I'm sure. I let him ride my V-Rod and he about crapped himself because of the power... He can't even imagine what the S4RS is like - scary fast.
No, he bought a bike tow ( http://www.abiketow.com/ (http://www.abiketow.com/) ) and is driving his truck down there. He's a pretty cool guy, but you're right about the difference in power. That Trophy is only a 900...
