Title: Latest on "Afari Seri" Post by: RetroSBK on August 11, 2009, 07:24:12 PM So the Streetfighter, named Serious Business, is down at Cycle World to be ridden and photographed, and hopefully, beaten on for a while!
I’m leaving it there for a couple weeks to make sure everyone gets to scare the crap out of themselves! Made a few changes to top off the list, and they topped it off very well IMO. First was to change the bars again to a bend that raised them even an inch more, but narrowed them by an by 30mm to 726, making it much easier to ride with the reduced leverage. This of course, required a total re-routing of the cables and lines, but nothing had to be changed. Ducati wasn’t that thrilled with a non-Ducati exhaust on the bike, so they sent me the first Termi full system. This system was fit to the bike, and promptly was cut up into little pieces. The two into one into two of the system, which mimics the stocker, and is larger tubing with no flapper valve, just doesn’t offer the visual impact I was looking for. So I assembled a jigsaw puzzle of little strips of Stainless and went to fit it all together. Of course with it needing to be done by Sunday night, I don’t have any Tri-gas! Yikes So score it, and set it up, and the Torch is on the fritz.. No Tig! So then we go to Mig welding stainless, what fun. So LOTS of grinding and sanding later, its done, on, and ready to rip! Fit the DP ECU, remove the exhaust servo, and set all the parameters. Start it up and the TPS is WAY out of whack.. Take it to Pro Italia and have them set the TPS and the CO and she’s ready to rip.
