Title: Typical Jets for M900 w/ open air filters & exhaust
Post by: beastie on August 12, 2009, 01:29:34 PM
Hi there,

Wondering what the typical jet size people run in a M900 with open air filters and exhaust?

And it's got DP 1.1 ignition boxes, if I recall correctly.

Thanks a million!!

I run 165 in Dyno jet, but my lid is not completely open...more like large holed swiss cheese.

That is a different 'scale' than the stock Mikuni numbers.

If you have a Factory Pro jet kit, the 155 main is best for a fully open airbox.  Be sure to move the needle one position in the lean direction to get the midrange right - assuming you have the Factory Pro needle too, which works better than the stock one.  I couldn't tell that the pipes made much difference at all regarding what carburetor settings worked best.

I also found that turning the idle mixture screw to 4 turns out rather than the stock 3.5 helped for very small throttle openings.

Ok, that sounds pretty close. By open air filter I mean filter pods. Stock Mikuni's

I have 145 and 150 mains and 70 for the (pilot jet?), 5 clip position needle is Dynojet I believe. They are set at 1st clip so max lean.

1.5 out for the air screw.

It's running RICH as well you know what...spitting fire at every rev. Looks pretty cool though!!

Just ordered some new emulsion tubes as mine were most likely shot.

Guess we'll see when I get them in.

Thanks for your replys  [thumbsup]
