I've seen mention on the forum of the Isle of Man slow motion footage, with lots of people saying that they don't have access to the channels to watch it.
Here's a taste of what was shown.
What can I say - perfectly set up suspension mixed with balls of steel, and very well captured by high speed video.
There are so many cool things in this video - at 1min51secs the "maximum commitment" left hander with both tires off the ground as the guy nears the apex is WILD...!
The little black bird...
The flames...
The wheelies at 160mph (many guys now have a little rear brake lever at their left thumb to bring the front wheel down if they have to)
My new favourite Youtube video Isle of Man TT 2009 - New Feature - Slow Motion Camera! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cRpHJlaG_-U#ws-lq-lq2-hq-vhq)
AWESOME !!!!!!!!!! [thumbsup]
.
I like the shot of theYamaha @ 2:43 check out the exhaust on trailing throttle [evil]
.
That R1 at the end with the flames = tehawesomness!
Great clip! Thanks for posting! [thumbsup]
[thumbsup] [thumbsup] [thumbsup]
It's amazing how much the bikes flex, and that they can recover from going airborne at 140 mph! [clap]
That is awesome!! [thumbsup] [thumbsup]
sweet clip. Im pretty sure I'd crap myself with those bumps in mid turn, much less when both wheels leave the ground leaned over.
I haven't caught that much air on my dirtbike [bow_down]
these guys have balls the size of pluto.
great video.

That's what I was thinking. How the hell do you go airborne and come down right into a turn? For that matter, how the hell do you not lose it when you're on one wheel and it gets super squirrelly? That scared the hell out of me just watching.
Soon on Blu-Ray..... !!! [wine]

i think gravity helps with that. ;D
An at regular speed. Insane...
Isle of Man TT 2009 - On Bike Laps - Volumes 1/2/3 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1qIx72V1z5k#lq-lq2-hq-vhq)
Not sure what's scarier, seeing it at speed or on slo-mo? Either way, those guys have balls.
Great video footage. [thumbsup]
It's...Isle of Man
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Isle_of_Man (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Isle_of_Man)
Happy Jack wasn't old, but he was a man.
He lived in the sand at the Isle of Man.
The kids would all sing, he would take the wrong key,
So they rode on his head in their furry donkey.

:o
I still didn't comprehend how fast these guys were until seeing the lap times... Even looking at an AVERAGE lap speed of 130 mph, its easy to think "I have gone (almost) that fast before..." But looking at covering a 36? mile course in 17 minutes :o Damn.
Poetry in motion.
that is the most incredible motorcycle riding i've ever seen. [bow_down]
one of my new dream rides is the route of the TT (of course a HELL OF A LOT SLOWER)
adding that to Nürburgring and hockenheimring.
Amazing footage. The one rider was lucky he didn't target fixate on that bird. [laugh]
Also the champagne seen was a little disturbing. :P
OMG
Isle of Man is Hell

Simply amazing. Can only imagine what that's like to see up close and then get to ride the course on your own bike....
if you guys ever go to the tt, you can do a spectator lap.
if course, you can also just go to the isle and ride the loop.
the spectator laps, however, are much faster. [evil]

My new favorite video too.
Holy cow - that corner at 1.51 is just terrifying... and that guy just keeps on pushing. The hairs on the back of my neck are standing up! [clap]
thanks for posting the vids

Thanks for posting the vids
My hands got all sweaty watching them.
I watched that live on the Speed channel, I think. I couldn't take my eyes off the TV until it was over. I'm sportin' wood now watching it again here.
As Hunter Thompson says, "we're road people" and not track guys. I don't really have any desire to do track days, but I'd give my left nut to be able to ride the TT like that.
Those clips are amazing - I have to say, the Isle of Man TT goes down as my #1 favorite...faster than I ever want to go, but true art in motion.
Thanks for the clips! [thumbsup]
i wish they'd bring that to the nw200
