like the title says, it is a well known fact that the m695 runs lean and hot from the factory. Has anyone had any luck getting the dealership or ducati north america to replace it with the DP ecu under warranty? and if so, how did you go about it.... I'm in my last year of my warranty and figured might as well give it a shot.

I'm also very curious about this. My engine started to discolor at around 3500 miles. I plane to ride at least 3 times more than that this year and don't want my bike in the shop for this more than once. Wouldn't it be cheaper for Ducati to just give you the DP ECU rather than keep paying for bead blasting?

If DNA was to do this as official policy they would be in violation of US emission laws.

They already have though. I've heard of several people who received the DP ECU on warranty. I don't think it's "official policy" because not everyone who gets the cooked engine finish problem fixed receives one. That's why I'm curious about what those who did had to say to get their bikes properly fixed.   At least one guy also got new heads and cylinder assemblies along with the ECU, so Ducati definitely doesn't have just one way of dealing with this.

DNA's official response is to give you a new cylinder head for the burned paint, hot running temperature issue. I had a 695 that became discolored very quickly due to high heat. DNA refuses to admit to any heat problems on these bikes. You can try for months like I did but it will do you no good. I ended up trading my bike in for an S2R.

You can buy an oil cooler and that should help with the heating problem but do not expect DNA to give you a DP ECU or anything else other than new cylinder heads.
