Title: (3) Ducati powered choppers/bobbers on eBay
Post by: MotoCreations on August 13, 2009, 08:19:43 AM

Saw on eBay (3) Ducati choppers "for sale".  First is Stuart / FlightCycles ex-bobber. (someone here -- buy it or donate it to Stuart to ride again!)  The other two are um "interesting".

- 1999 Ducati Other Ducati Bobber (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=180396543275)
- 1996 Ducati 900 super sport Chopper (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250480046279)
- 1995 Ducati Custom Built Motorcycle Chopper bobber Red (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=330351894113)

The frame's what really makes it for me

the chopper framed one i don't like...the other just looks like the engine is floating there.

2nd one looks like a modified HD 'custom' frame.

3rd one looks like someone copied a 13Choppers frame from the pics on the website.  It's *really* close but lacks some of the structure that Mat builds into his frames.

Dunno, it's just me....but nothing like having to avoid getting your man-junk smashed up by the frame while stopping?

First one...errr emm, OK.  Looks tiny.  Second and third ones just get worse as they go.  And 9K?   [laugh] ???

How do you adjust the valves on the other two?  Probably never get ridden far enough to need it though.

First one with regard to braking...  Have you seen the front brake?!?  The bike barely stopped with that little f*cker.

First one with regard to being tiny.  24 1/2" seat height, so yeah...tiny.

$9000?!?  Bike couldn't be duplicated for that much $.

I'm not going to get into an internet e fight with duck-stew, but I think it could be made for quite a bit less than that, unless you are paying yourself 100$ an hour to fab stuff up.

www.thechopperunderground.com (//http://)

Those guys can build excellent examples of choppers and bobbers from garbage can finds that look great.

Anyway, just commenting on my thoughts, which is what an internet message board is for.

For a personal bike yes.  If you were building it for a customer no.

You really should see the bike.  Like all of Duck-Stew's creations, the closer you get and the more you pay attention to the details, you more you realize how much workmanship and $ are involved.  It's much more than it appears.

It's also a f'n hoot to ride.   [thumbsup]   [moto]

ambition:
1. an earnest desire for some type of achievement or distinction, as power, honor, fame, or wealth, and the willingness to strive for its attainment.

I don't recall saying they actually pulled it off well...

Not sure which one of you blind bastards ta' quote, so, may I just say lets see your "customized" bikes.   Oh, and while your at it, what year is it? and how many miles have YOU put on it?  Rage on Stew!

And for the record... bobbers are made for style.  The smaller the cooler.

Not a Duc, but I have done a few amazingly worthless bikes myself.

80 CB750 found wadded up & seized in a junk yard.  After many cut-off wheels & a welder,  Wisco 850 race kit, turbo off a blown Cesna, sportster tank & a ton of boat flake. VOILA 136 hp at the rear wheel.

Care to dance ?

And yes I have a "real bike"
08 1098s 11K in four months.

Bobbers might be made for style, but I'm not sure about the smaller the cooler.  At least in my case.....I look like an elephant riding a skateboard on my s4r...

and BRAVO on the CB chop  [clap] [clap] [thumbsup]

I totally respect that.  I've judged so many shows in the past and if it weren't for the 300lb owner riding up on 280lb bike, they would have won.    Magazine bikes are like rock stars, They look 6ft thick & bullet broof 'til ya' meet 'em.    :o

Glad you enjoyed my rat bike.

hope to see you down the road.

Patience, my son.  ;)

That CB chop is way cool.  [thumbsup] I saw a similarly done Kawi Vulcan chop yesterday whilst picking up some goodies for my wee beastie that I thought was neato.
