Title: My LED Blinker Fix Post by: JimE on August 15, 2009, 08:33:50 PM Previous owner of my bike installed a Clear Alternatives LED integrated tail/turn assembly. It's nice and bright, looks sharp, cleans up the tail..... Anyways he didn't fix the blink rate and the blinkers went like mad. So I went and bought the turn relay module from the same guys that was supposed to fix this. Turns out it was a bad move. I had to unpin the connector and rewire, which was easy, but it didn't work. Didn't blink. So I start the bike thinking the voltage is down or something and POOF it fries and the fuse blows. There went $15 or so. Now the new relay is fried and I have to hunt up a fuse out of the shop. Grrrr.
Anyways I take a look online and get some pretty good info on these relays for LED's, then scoot down to my local auto parts store that actually had one (many!) on hand. I got a Tridon EP35 and it works great. Uses exactly the same connector as the OEM. The only "mod" I did was wrap the body in electrical tape to build it up (it's slightly smaller than the OEM) so it'll fit in the stock holder. Not only that, but it'll work when I go LED up front later on (have stock now) so one less thing to worry about. Here's some guys that have some info, but you can get these at any Kragen, Napa, etc..: http://autolumination.com/equalizers.htm (http://autolumination.com/equalizers.htm) Hopefully I've saved somebody a headache by posting this. Cheers, Jim Title: Re: My LED Blinker Fix Post by: Jarvicious on August 16, 2009, 07:33:05 AM Thanks for the info. I'm working on some custom led turners and this will definitely come in handy.
