He's a hack. I have no idea how he has become famous.
In the words of Chris Rock:
"Are we so desperate that we fall for a trick-less magician? Where's the trick? Saw a lady in half...pull a rabbit out of a hat...do something! What was his last trick? I'm in a box, and I ain't gonna eat. Sit in a box, and I ain't gonna eat. That ain't no trick, that's called livin' in the projects!"
Criss Angel is doing some interesting stuff nowadays. last night I saw him get buried 6 ft under the snow in a coffin with handcuffs on. took him about 45 min to escape the coffin and tunnel his way back to the surface. [popcorn]

That's still not a magic trick though. Everyone knows they keep keys on them for the cuffs when you're looking.
yeah, angel's houdini stuff isn't magic, but it's still cool.
his actual magic tricks, though, are pretty kickass
say what you want about db's "stunts," his close-up work is impressive (from what i've seen).
I enjoy Criss Angle
he is pretty cool and entertaining. God knows how much is true or not, but he is appealing.

Jeez BP, I knew Bako was bad, but since when are kids getting tricks from the whores?
maybe I'm jaded but most magic nowadays just doesn't appeal to me. The tricks are usually a rip off and/ or expansion of an old great. Because of safety checks and concerns the element of danger isn't really there either. When you incorporate edited film then what is the real appeal left over? Some guy dressed funny doing a trick you've seen before and have a descent idea of how they did it.

he did have a pick to get the cuffs off, which he showed to the crowd and told them that was how he was going to remove them.
