got my rim and cush drive powder coated

and frickin did the old spit'n'polish on the SSS as well!  [thumbsup]

you even cleaned up the welds! I used to have a friend who would clean his bike like yours....his wife once told me she wished that occassionally he'd leave the bike along and give her a rub'n'polish instead. So make sure your other obligations are being left alone mate!

very impressive....but mate...if your driveline is going to be kept in that condition....can you not use a chain wax?

due to the cush drive warning I bought some cheap insurance....an AFAM quick changer with safety tabs....a wise man said 'cheap insurance'...and when you consider the cost if it goes pear-shaped, i'd agree!

thanks spider sorry about the wax but it stops my chain from rusting ,salt air , whats involved with the afam quick change , do you change your sprocket at the same time and how much are they , ive fixed mine by putting a high tensil pin in the cush drives cheers bazz 

at present I reckon bout $250 with a chain ring in there...after that chainrings are about $60. AFAM is apparently good stuff and manufactured to good tolerances (that means that it can put up with a nagging wife?). I used to see the stickers all the time of moto-x bikes.

but there were heaps of options....and the one I went with was probably the cheapest and plainest....I really don't need to bling a cush drive, more safety than anything else....but you can get wanky (NCR of course) all the way up to $700 for a carrier!

the other thing is once you have it....it can go bike to bike with you (in the Ducati family!)

the AFAM lightened front sprocket is a nice looking bit of kit...but once again....do it for the precision not looks....who looks at the sprocket? and light weight...other than wheels/flywheels...who could possibly tell?

My latest and greatest cleaner for everything is Tar & Bug Spot remover.
Gets everything off....

yep petrol dont laugh its cheap but takes tar and grease of with ease , i youse two stoke petrol to clean the chain it leaves the oil behind in the rollers it stops two stoke enginers from blowing up and before any one says it will stuff your orings are full of shit and dont khow what there talking about all two stoke engines have seals made out of the same neoprene rubber used in roller chains  [thumbsup] end of lesson cheers bazz
