Title: one tooth less on front sprocket? Post by: 09/1100 on August 20, 2009, 04:08:20 AM can anyone tell me what i can expect from putting a smaller front sprocket on my monster 1100? what do i do about speedometer calibration? by the way the speedometer seems to be about 8 percent off at 65 MPH even with stock sprocket. anyone else notice this?

The speedo reads off the rear wheel. No correction is necessary. All Duc speedos have been optimistic by roughly 10%.....forever. Don't know why. Title: Re: one tooth less on front sprocket? Post by: numbskull on August 20, 2009, 08:39:49 AM There are two drawbacks, both minor. You'll lose some top end speed and the front sprocket may wear a little more than a 15T. To counter the wear, it's better to increase the rear sprocket by 3 teeth.
