So are there any disaster stories? I bought my S4Rt in April this year and just ticked over 7500 mi. I'm at about 7660 and want to go out for a +300mi ride this sunday. Who thinks its a bad idea? Bike sounds and runs great. Nothing has sound quirky or have felt anything odd. What are the consequences if something does go wrong? Warranty issues? Personally I think I'm going to be fine but want to see what the powers at be think. All help and constructive criticism is always appreciated.
uhhh, i have over 14k miles on my s2r w/o any issues. I still go on 250 mile rides. There are guys on here w/ way more miles w/o any issues. You will be fine.
I wouldn't worry about it.
Maybe I wasn't clear. I have not done the scheduled maintenance yet.

ooohhhhh.
forget it, it's going to blow up. what were you thinking, man?
;D
You are probably fine, but if you do any of your own work, it wouldn't hurt to go ahead and change the oil.
I spontaneously did an over nighter the last weekend. But seriously though do you think another 500 miles will hurt? I've been planning this weekends ride and really don't want to sit at home this weekend.
I did the oil 1000 mi ago.

the engines aren't as delicate as people think.
valves can be a little of of whack and still function fine.
I did not get my 7500mi service on my S2R till about 8500mi with no ill effects [thumbsup]

ah ha! as previously stated, as long as the oil has been changed, you should be fine. might want to check chain tension though.
I was at 8100 and went on an epic trip 3 days, 1150 miles, Still running strong. The chain slightly loose. right now I got 9300 on the S4Rs, will be bringing it in for service soon. Go for it!
