Title: HAPPY ENDING - KITTY HAS BEEN ADOPTED!!!!!!
Post by: cyrus buelton on August 23, 2009, 07:24:58 PM
Probably not the right place for this, but I want the most exposure for it. Called all the no-kill shelters in the area and all are at capacity and not accepting new animals. I will not turn this kitten into the Capital Humane Society, which will surely euthanize it within a week. If we can't place this kitten, it will be a new edition to our family, but is not ideal with our current animal situation and other factors. We already have two dogs and my wife is allergic to cats.

But......we will not and can't take it to a shelter that will euthanize. So we will make do with what happens.

Kitty is going to a free local service tomorrow for shots and flee/tick treatment. City Kitty is the service. She will also be spayed by this service when she is old enough. I don't think she has flees, but since she was "feral" that treatment is necessary.

kitty is sweet but a little timid. We first located her in a bush outside our condo Friday night. We have been tracking her since and finally were able to lure her into a cage this afternoon with some tuna, cat food, and treats.

We have named her Libertarian but Libby for short. Name is up for change  [laugh] [laugh]

PM if interested or know of anyone that could be.

BIG NOTE: WE WILL BE IN INDY THIS COMING WEEKEND FOR MOTO GP. WILL GLADLY BRING KITTY FOR DELIVERY.

Please PM me if interested. Libertarian is not ideal for our house, but will keep if we have to, but are actively seeking to place her.

You are too far away unless someone is driving cross country soon.

We'd love to keep her, but just wouldn't work out well.

We just can't take her to a non no-kill shelter.

I'm glad that you guys don't live close to us, if you did, I'd have to come up with a reason for not needing kitten number 3.

That's a cute kitten.  ;)

Here is the story of our kitty's adoption. This story is 100% true. I have never been a liar on this board, might have been an asshole but never no the truth.

I hate craigslist. I think it is the place to buy stolen property. I for some reason thought it would be a good idea yesterday to post up the Kitty on this site. Well, I tried to place my ad a few times and realized it didn't like the file size and I couldn't get it to load. I finally downsized my photos and I thought my ad was posted.

I look this morning and don't see it on the site. I decide to post again. Well, my dumbass didn't notice that you have to respond to their email to finally publish your ad. I finally follow the steps and my ad is published on Columbus Craigslist. This was around 8:45a this morning.

The day passes, my wife and I go for a 8mi bike ride after work, and we come home. We are going away this weekend, so I decide to go have a beer or two while she works on school work. I check my blackberry before I leave and see a new email from someone responding to my CL add. It was a nice email about how he has a 16yr old cat which is about to put down and his two 7yr old cats which are healthy. He then proceeds to telll me his partner doesn't feel an attachment to these cats and wants a kitten to be his. He ends the email with how he wants to surprise his partner tonight but isn't sure we can have the cat at his location of employment.

Well......he tells me where he works and that happens to be the new hotel behind the bar I was going to.

I go over there (after setting it up with him) to discuss Kitty.

Long story short, he wants Kitty to give to his partner as his own.

We come back at 11p when he got off work with Kitty and well.................Kitty has a great home!!!!!!!

Patrick and Adam will be great parents to the little kitten they have named Moxy.

I have pictures of the whole ordeal and will post either tonight or tomorrow.

Thank you all for your help on trying to place this little kitten. We were able to place her locally and we are sure she will be in good hands. After speaking with the new parents, we couldn't imagine her getting a better home.

Tiffany holding Kitty while I cleaned out her cage for transport. She has this really low purrrrring going on. Turns out she is a huge attention whore  ;D

Meeting her new Dad. Kitty was certainly showing off to get these two to love her. She was rolling all over on her back in the cage. I'd never seen her so actively seeking attention. Kitty knew it was a try-out and she delivered a home run.

The new owners with Moxy. We actually chatted for a while and are going to keep in touch with the progress of kitty growing up. It's great to see such happy new pet owners  [thumbsup]

Yea for Kitty!

Our 2 cats live with L's folks.  We could not have 2 cats and a dog in our condo.  I miss them.

Looks like Moxy got a good home.

I am in the same boat with you. I never held this cat.

I have never been around cats and quite frankly, I do not like them. They are sketchy. They lurk and stalk. No thanks.

However, my animal loving instinct kicked in seeing a helpless kitty starving and scared, so I had to do what I could to get this animal a proper home.

Taking it to a shelter that euthanizes was not an option and all the no-kill shelters were full.
