Hey guys,
For some strange reason my lights will not come on when I turn the bike on. I can turn them on by turning the key to the parking light spot, but when the bike is actually on and ready to ride the lights stay off. I can flash the high beam with the trigger button on the front, but can't turn any lights on in any other way. All turn signals are functioning and all bulbs and everything else obviously works since I can get everything on with the key set to parking light. Check Engine Light is on, reading "LIGHT."
I installed the R&G Tail Tidy eliminator kit earlier today; I don't know if this is related but I can't see how it would be. The CEL came on about an hour or so after installation. I had ridden about 10 miles, then parked, then it came on when I started the bike back up. I believe that was the notification about the headlight, but I don't know for sure since it was during the daytime.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Problem solved. Solution below.
Start by checking the fuses.
i think the license plate light is on the same fuse. check to see if that's on
The license plate light is off while the bike is on, but on while the parking light mode is on. If they are on the same fuse or relay then I must have fried it while installing the eliminator kit. (I think I know how that could have happened and it is now fixed.) Anyone know where exactly that fuse or relay that controls these while the bike is on is located? Clearly it is a different one from that which works with the parking light. How hard is that to replace? Standard fuse I can buy at Home Depot, or arbitrarily proprietary Ducati part?
Thanks for your help everyone.

the fuses for those are on the right side of the bike.
they are regular smaller size auto fuses.
there is a fuse puller in your toolkit
dont' worry did the same thing when i put on the Competition werkes tail kit (later changed to R&G) but i also blew the main bike fues, so consider yourself lucky.
Hey all,
Yup, it was the headlight fuse. Simple enough solution. I didn't check the fuses because of the fact that the headlights worked in the parking light setting, but that's what I get for making assumptions. Bought a jumbo box of fuses at Home Depot to prepare myself for the next electrical disaster I cause...
Looks like its time to brush up on my basic mechanic skills.
Thanks again everyone for all of your help.
