Post by: Adam in TX on May 22, 2008, 03:29:33 PM
thought I'd start my own. I bought it a couple days ago, hasn't shown up yet, but I'm really excited to start playing with it.

Any apps y'all like.

Right on Man Ive been having a Palm since 1996. I can go back & see what I did back then. I use the Desktop Calender and the Contact info & work and on the phone. I have a specialty App that I use called service report to keep track of my time but it's not for most people. The world clock is cool, Iva had a long running game of Monopoly going on for a couple of months now. I have $371,111 dollars and own all the railroads plus half the property on the board.

The blue tooth sync is cool but it doesnt work right with a SONY. Oh get a converter program, Inches to CM, minutes to Radians, Litres/Min to Gals/Min stuff like that. Just do a web search for it, I think it's freeware, then just sync it in there.

I used to have a program someone wrote for Keeping maintenance records of the Motorcycle, but it caused the whole Device to crash so I removed it. It looked promising though.

Are you running Palm OS or WM?
I have WM5 running (need to upgrade) and use Google Maps as a kludgey GPS - best I can tell it locates you based on what cell tower you connect to.  Its cool and it works in a pinch.  Also, it took me a while to find, but the only decent free chat client is OctroTalk - you need a gmail account to sign in, but once you do, you can add MSN, AIM, other accounts.

SplashID (http://splashdata.com/splashid/index.asp) - livesaver. password and info vault that puts a desktop app and a palm app in synchronization so you can add to either and use either as a reference.  been running this since 2000, upgraded devices a couple times.  now running on a Palm Centro.  awesome and so glad to have had it over the years.
i also use SplashShopper, just not as frequently.  nice little database company, SplashData, have had a couple e-mail question/support issues over time and they've been fast and friendly to respond.

my only complaint so far is the battery life... I'm lucky if I get through ten hours without having to recharge.

It also was doing some funny things with caps lock, but I think I got it figured out.

I got the Treo 700wx, great options and I like the phone overall.  Just have had issues with bluetooth syncing.
