Riding at around 55mph in 5th gear, when I crank down on the throttle it feels like the bike is slipping a gear, kinda sounds like it would if you were to downshift. No grinding and the bike doesn't jerk around, just a noticeable change in the sound.
I had the cylinder heads, valve covers, and cam shaft covers replaced under warranty due to the "sugar burn" discoloration, back in June.
The bike is a 07 695.
Any idea as to what's going on? I hope this isn't bad..
clutch slipping? Did you install a new clutch lever? Maybe that little adjustment screw is turned in too much.
That's a classic description of a slipping clutch.
As asked - mess with the clutch lever at all recently?
What flavor and weight of oil are you using?
+1 clutch slip. Details, we demand them!
Have not messed with the clutch lever at all.
Its got Repsol 10w40 in right now.
I did a little test to make sure that the clutch just isn't going out the other day. Put it in 5th riding slow and running at about 2000 rpms, slammed the throttle to see if it would slip. It held just fine.
Still have no idea what's going on.
