So, while preparing to put new tires on my bike, I noticed that I have dented the lip on my rim :(. It is flared out just a little, but the tire still holds air. I ride on all kinds of inappropriate terrain, so I guess I am not really surprised.
My question is, what are my options as far as replacing the rim goes? Keep in mind that if I had $2k to spend on a set of rims I wouldn't be asking this question. I'm looking for rims (possibly from other bikes) that will fit, not break the bank, and not require machine work. I am not overly concerned with looks (that's what sandpaper and a rattlecan is for) I just want to be able to ride ;)
There is a rear wheel on ebay - $350. ("S2R rim")
You could contact Chris @ MotoredSports/Desmotion - he has all kinds of used parts. 916 628 0963
EDIT: did you check the "parts for sale" section here?
What about looking at having reshaped/repaired? I know a number of bike owners that have had rims repaired and they work fine, hell of a lot cheaper then replacing!
These guys came recommended to me. http://www.mcwheel.com/ (http://www.mcwheel.com/)
I've never used them, but I did have some correspondence. I too have a bent lip on my front rim and I sent them pictures and they sent me back a quote.
I wound up finding a pair of wheels on eBay. I don't need the back one, so I'll be selling it. The front one I got is from an s2r800, so I'm swapping the brake discs. I'll be selling off all of what I have soon. Let me know if you need anything. (The wheels are white, btw)

obviously reshaping/repairing is the first option, I am mostly researching options and couldn't find the information I wanted.
It is the front rim/wheel.
My intent was to discover what other wheels I could use without massive amounts of work (so that I could satisfy the budget) if I found a smoking deal on, say 749 wheels, or an st3, or something. Thanks for the responses.
Q
I think the cheapest option is to have the wheel repair if money is your only concern. If it holds air I doubt the bend can be all that bad but you should post pics to get better answers.

You can use any wheel w/25mm bearing id from a Duc except 749/999.
Well, thanks for the responses. I will keep that in mind. It turns out it is round enough at the moment. I just like to plan for the worst.
Did all 25mm axle Ducs use the same axle? so I can tell if a wheel works by comparing axle part numbers for the year and model?

I don't know.
You could check by downloading the pdf files from ducati.com.
