Title: fuel line question
Post by: yamifixer on August 30, 2009, 01:07:20 PM
I just finished doing belts and checking valves on my 2000 900Sie and have a truely retarded question. do the fuel supply and return line lay directly on top of the vertical cylinder head? I do not remember where they ran before but this looks wrong. Of course I could be wrong and this is correct.

I get All OCD after I do stuff like this.

Thanks

Those lines on my M800 run to the right of the head (from a sitting-on-the-bike perspective.)  They kind of lay on the top of the timing belt cover.

That's where mine run too.  Last time I was working there I thought it was a bit odd to drape fule lines over a hot engine head.  What do I know?

I sure wouldn't lay them on anything hot, but you can get all kinds of heat wraps at places like McMcarr. I use them on all elec wires and fuel lines that go past any engine component. They are cheap and easy to install, just not too pretty.
