Title: ST2 shock on a monster?
Post by: cduarte on August 30, 2009, 12:30:26 PM
I just got a great deal on a showa shock from an early st2, it looks like this will bolt right on to my 695 monster, it has the remote reservoir. As I am kind of on the heavy side, I imagine that the spring rate will be ok. Has anyone else done this?

I haven't done it, but the frames are the same, and if you weigh about 200+ it should be a good solution.

well, I got the shock in yesterday, got it mounted up, and took the bike out for a spin.... what a difference, the bike feels much more planted and the S4 forks work quite well with the ST2 shock, it feels like a different bike, the handling is greatly improved.  ;D

just want to add a pic of the bike with the shock installed... btw, mods so far include:

S4 forks
ST2 shock
SIL Titanium Exhaust
FatDuc

mods to come:

320 mm rotors and 4-pot calipers
748 Master Cylinder
Flyscreen
