I think I'll head out for this one.
The new Monster has a few pretty bits on it hope a few of the other Oz monster crew might come along again.

It will be good to see a good Monster turnout.

I got asked to judge the Monster 4V category but told them it was inappropriate considering I know some of the bikes + my old bike might be there.

Does anyone know where there is a copy of the judging rules and criteria? I checked on the DOC NSW site and I couldn't find it.

No it was meant to be on the website but I couldn't find it either. From memory (only a quick glance last year) it was not judged as a typical Concours so mods, etc were not necessarily a bad thing ... but there was a very heavy weighting on kms travelled.

That's part of the reason I would like to see Big's bike there and see how it scores.

So Big should score a mimimum of 16 points for turning up.

I am not sure how many points are available, but if you have less than 20Kk you are 12 points behind already ... that's a lot of ground to make up with paddle pop sticks and jocks [laugh]

So I'll buy 1000 paddle pop hit up K-mart or Target for a 20 pack of Jockey's
then spend the next 16 days cleaning and polishing.  [cheeky] [cheeky]
Or maybe I'll just ride 3,500k and make the points up that way.

a round trip to PI and a oz monster ride day and you'd be there!

Betty and I will be up for that, but we have two other places we need to be at sometime that day

Can't have a dirty chain before getting to the concourse or any other road grime.

I'd be up for a burn. I'm heading out cycling in the morning so providing i get my ass out of bet at 6am to get that done then a 9am meet shouldn't be a problem.

Ha Brett , do you know in the criteria for judging are there points deducted fro non standard mods ?
I am thinking of going for a look see with my son, he recons I should enter but even with cleaning mine has its faults (odd scratch or two) mostly being the mods tail chop etc.

Points are not deducted for having mods, chops or anything else.
Just give it a clean paying attention to drive train/engine (best you can) bodywork and wheels.
Why not come along and stick it on the lawn for people to oggle.
Be there by about 11:30 if your not riding before and you'll be gone by about 3-3:30 or so. 

Still on for meeting at Berowra ... 9:00am.

Just don't know how long we will be hanging around at the Concours itself.

It's not the mods I'm worried about, I'm always copping stick from everyone for the lack of mileage on the ODO. I might hit the 9K mark tomorrow!

Regarding the bushfire smoke for tomorrow's ride - It is 5pm now - and it is really, really thick up Hornsby way. It is also raining ash. Everytime I go outside, my eyes start to water   :'( .

Don't worry about that ... I doubt it is out of proportion with most people (obviously there are some extreme exceptions).


Haven't noticed ... I have  been out of the news loop. We can see smoke haze out over the ocean, but I am not even noticing the smell (typically hits as the day cools down).

I'll see you all at the Concourse.
Won't be out for the ride, been up that way 3 times lately.
Will save myself for the big spin next weekend, that is if people are still going to this one.

Good luck to everyone entering tomorrow. I am so disappointed I can't go. Would have been nice to have put some faces to the names.

My normal sunday run to Berowra was cut short to Mt Colah- It is hella smokey again

So now you have more time for cleaning and prepping for Concourse!!!
