it's a "talking" style song song about ex-girlfriends

I'm pretty sure it's from the 80's or real early 90's

a male vocalist... and it had an alternative synth beat to it if I remember correctly.

Any band or vocalist that sounds similar? It would help narrow the search.

the song is just a guy going over a list of ex-girlfriends or lovers.
