Article says the cyclist received "non life-threatening injuries." That still leaves a whole host of unpleasant options available.
Having recently had my own run-in with drivers who just weren't paying attention, as he says, I don't have much sympathy for that argument.

Many places have a delay of 2-3 seconds. But yeah, he totally blew that light.
