I had a oneweek holiday AND I had some unused spareparts screaming at me for just a while. So I started an 'experiment' with a bikinifairing and so, to make an underseatcover and a (removable ;) ) seatcowl to get more red in the back.... Bike looks a bit different now.

Damn Celli ;)
Thinking outside the box and coming up with that idea [bow_down] it would have to be you!
It looks good - amazing that a fairing actually looks THAT good back there.
Are you planning to cut into it? I think the raised part, where the screen fastening bolts are, need to go.
BTW why are the black stripe on that side of the "cowl"? If you haven't already moved them, I would have thought they were on the other side before ???
BTW2 Are the red pinstripes on the rear fender new? Looks very sophisticated
Celli: Great job. It really works well with the angles in the rest of the bike! REALLY well!!!
BTW: Where did you get that gas cap or did you have it made specifically for your bike? I'm interested...
Thanks guys!

Stew, Thanks.
I bought the gascap at an oldtimerbikefair. It's from an old Ducati. It has 'Bologna' and a number on it. I changed the base on the inside to fit.

i wasnt impressed until i saw it on the bike
its hawt!!
It looks really good. I am looking at it though and comparing my fatass to the size of the seat and where the lines of the cowl are. I think my butt or the backs of my legs would be on that cowl edge and it would dig in.
Superb work as always Celli. I have no idea how you fabricate those parts - magic, I am guessing. [clap]
And you were right - the additional red at the back of the bike works very very well: the back of the bike ties in perfectly with the front of the bike now. Bravo!

No, no, I'm not cutting into it. I also think, it matches the total design.
I moved the black stripe, indeed. [cheeky]

When making it I had my doubts too. But it sits wonderful. I have more supportfeeling (Not the feeling anymore to slide of the bike) and I only touch the cowl when I sit complete flat. The legs don't touch the sideparts. They float above them. You touch them when you have your feet on the floor.

Another moddingdisease: Less is more, less is more..... [bang]
(Still a bad pic...).
Nah, put it back on. Your "heavy-in-the-middle"/"up-front" theme is better with it on, IMO.
I would like to see some Celli style mods to the bar risers. I know you probably have them on to mount the steering damper, but can't you invent a unique look for them? I mean, you are Celli and must carry a certain amount of responsibility 8)
[laugh]
I must say, I like it more than I thought. It's more naked and light and still heavy and low at the front. It takes 5 minutes to put them back. So, I'll see. ;)
The risers are on my list for quite a while. I'm busy with them but it has no priority at the moment. The reservoirs are high on my 'to do'- list, though. After lowering the gaugecluster and the headlight, they are much too prominent.
Just found this thread.
Excellent work, Celli! I love your bike. It looks so well put together, but the closer you looks, the more mods/upgrades you notice. I could look at your bike for days in complete awe.

The brackets/shields behind the headlight are now polished/natural [thumbsup] The light looks less heavy now = good!
I've been looking at your fuel overflow hose - I routed mine behind the two lower rearset mounts (between the engine and rearsets) I think it looks better and I'm sure it won't suddenly fly off into another position.
Shin-You 8) - and the curvy cover over it?

No, it's not sanded down. The 'cheeks' of the headlight are custom made out of carbon fibre.

Man it's going to be a bummer when your tank starts growing & you have to swap all that to the new tank....... I wonder if they would warranty that one ???
Hi Gus Duc,
I'm interested in a bigger tank, but I'm not sure yet.
But what new tank do you mean?
Celli
I believe he was referring to the tendency for the plastic tanks to stretch. Ducati is replacing some of them under warranty, but to have to get a new one back to where yours is now would suck.
Now a bigger tank, I think we all wish.

I wonder if the fuel in Europe affects the plastic tanks like our ethanol fuel does?
I'm curious, are the replaced plastic tanks of new design? Hopefully a material resistant to warping. My tank was replaced under warranty about 4 months ago.

Are you all kidding me? :o This is a joke, is it? Does the tank stretch??? And in what way? In length or width? OMG.
In the beginning of my moddingcrazyness I thought the tank looked bigger because I made everything else around it smaller.... [laugh]

This is a common problem in the US where the gas contains ethanol. Ducati replace tanks under warranty since it's a safety issue. As long as we keep our gas without ethanol, we're fine in Europe. Not to worry, Celli.
Oh, that's clear. Thanks!!! It's a good thing that they replace it for everybody under warrenty.

The stock plastic tanks grow but unfortunately your fuel capacity doesn't increase...... they just get wavy looking & the latch becomes close & closer to the ignition & pretty soon your steering lock won't work.
