Title: Bayliss 1098R and Desmosidici
Post by: LQQKR on September 04, 2009, 07:21:36 AM
I heard that Go AZ motorcycles (formerly Ducati Scottsdale) will be racing a Bayliss 1098R and Desmosidici at the next round of CCS races on Sept 13th.  The race is on the Firebird Main track and they are anticipating speeds of over 185mph.

Nice!  Might be fun to head out for that... Are you racing that weekend also?

My female is having a litter on the 10th. So unfortunately, I am going to miss the race, but I most likely will come out to see a few rounds.  I have the schedule and assuming those bikes are racing in SuperTwins, that's race # 3 where race #1 starts at 10:30AM.

Anyone fancy a roll-a-round before the races?  Ride out somehwhere early?  Winkelman/Kearney loop perhaps?

I wish that we could join you guys but we're hardcore training on our bicycles for the Tour de Scottsdale (70miles) in October and the century ride (100miles) for El Tour de Tucson in November - even our cars are feeling neglected!!!! LOL!

Maybe you could pace our ride? :)  We'll just run support and hand you water bottles....

LOL, that would be a better idea if you could pace our ride!! I love the idea of having a support team like the pro's do!!

5 of us had a truly beautiful ride up to Payson for breakfast this morning.  Made good time.  It was HOT back in town watching the races however.  It was fun watching the races, but our group made up about half of the total spectators. :(  And....no Desmosedici in sight. In fact, I don't remember any Ducatis out there racing.  Maybe they raced after we left at around noon.  Had to stop at Tilted Kilt part way home for some lunch to ..ahh...cool off.

Sounds like you had a good ride in the AM.  I seriously need to get a new ride if I want to go that for out.  My bike has generally been dependable within city limits.   [roll]

Too bad no Ducs. A bit too hot to be out there.

I would've gone to Tilted Kilt though!!

Rule62 rolled out with us on his 620, and I always had a yellow dot fairly close in my rear view, even durring some *ahem* extended spirited cruising back down the hill from Payson.

..BUT..Rule probably doesn't have 10th the miles my hard ridden 620 has!   ;)

Speak up Ryan..what ya got on the odometer these days?!  Have you broken 7K??

Not that the bike couldn't keep up..the key words in my last post are DEPENDABLE BIKE!!   :-X

Just over 16K on the odo.  Didn't get too much riding in while I was in Maryland.

...and I was doin' just fine in the triple-digit sweepers on the way home yesterday.

Only problem is the clutch slippage getting worse.  F that APTC nonsense.  I'm going 800SS clutch all the way!

Great times!  Had to split before the races though.  I was seriously drowsy.

Except for that one asshole pick-up truck near the end of the ride... I almost had no reason to pass into oncoming traffic.   ;D
