Post by: tricolore on September 07, 2009, 07:54:00 PM I don't know if you are aware (you most likely are) but the two whites on my Tricolore are unmatched. The Seat Cowl and Fairing have white pearl and the tank is plain white. I believe its because the tank is actually a red tank with green and white decals ??? It doesn't answer why Ducati would do it but the Tricolore 1098 is the same.

Bodies painted in one place, bumpers painted elsewhere and then bolted together. Toyota White = Fail When one of the worlds largest car companies with such massive brand loyalty, and they can't even basic white right, what hope do you think Ducati have got! Post by: loony888 on September 15, 2009, 10:48:42 PM i've yet to see a white duke with matching panels, i just love the tri colour, but with pearl bodywork (mostly) and plain white wheels??? nope, besides, i love my s4r too much to chop her in. ;D
as for different materials being different shades? yep, it happens, a lot! even using the same primer will give different shades, the only way around it is to prime, rub back and prime again before top coat colour, and not many factory paint jobs have that much time and effort spent on them, unless it's an aston or a ferrari. :-\ paul.
