Title: 43 to 44 valves
Post by: Norm on September 07, 2009, 06:52:57 AM
For those of you who cut your own valve seats, is there enough meat in the older 900 series with the 43mm intake to recut it to 44mm (or 45), or do you have to install a new seat?

Thanks. Brad: do you know if the stock seats are iron? I like to run Ti valves and would like to have copper or bronze seats.

Valve seats are Steel, till Ducati came in with Bronze Beryllium with the SBK and 2 valver, starting with the 749r series. Use Bronze Beryllium for the exhaust ,Its composition draws out the heat from the TI valve & is softer for longevity, use Bronze for the intake side as the temperatures are a bit coller & this still cushes the Ti valve. later..RS
