Title: fuel pressure difference between fi models?
Post by: Bill in OKC on September 08, 2009, 12:04:02 PM
Some tanks have round flanges for fuel pumps, some newer models have oval flanged tanks.  Does anyone know if there are different fuel pressures for different engines/models or does Ducati spec and tune all of their fi engines to a standard fuel pressure?  I found a good deal on a tank that I want to custom paint and swap out but I need to make sure I won't screw up the way my bike runs with a different fuel pump.  Thanks
Bill

Well, I guess I'll find out the hard way lol.

all ducati run 3 bar, excepting the corsa bikes, many of which run 5 bar.  the 851 and 907 had the vacuum port on the regulator linked to the inlet manifolds to lower the fuel pressure with manifold vacuum, but they gave that idea away with the 888.

Thank you Brad.  This makes twice (at least?) that you've helped me out with this bike - I owe you a beer or three!
