Title: G-string sold separately
Post by: Betty Rage on September 08, 2009, 06:07:14 PM
Pole Dancing Doll

Batteries and dollar bills not included.

A grainy Internet photo of an alleged new toy for girls has parents in a tizzy - "Pole Dance," a doll that, well, dances around a pole. Like a stripper.

In the photo, which first appeared on gadget blog Gizmodo.com, the box for the toy depicts a cherubic, brunette doll in a shiny green dress, clutching a pole with a disco ball on top while standing on a small stage that says "Pole Dancer."

The simple graphics on the box include the words "Style," "Flash" "Up and Down" "Go Round and Round" and "Music."

Title: Re: Worse than the breastfeeding doll?
Post by: cyrus buelton on September 08, 2009, 06:26:23 PM
a breastfeeding doll is pretty repulsive as is.

I unfortunately sit outside the "milking" room at work.

I have no problem with breastfeeding, I might not agree with it, but that is neither here nor there.

Unfortunately, my lunch and beverages sit in the community refrigerator next to said milk.

That is disgusting and repulsive.

What, is the milk leaking all over your food? It's in sealed containers, not bothering anything. You're acting like it's containers of piss or shit next to your food and not human breastmilk. There is nothing disgusting about breastfeeding or breastmilk. Move your lunch if it's such an issue, those women have every right to have it there, they are giving life to their babies in the best way possible.

That being said, this thread isn't about the breastfeeding doll and I'm changing the title to reflect as much.

Speaking of poop in the office...I was really sick once and had to give a stool sample. I brought it inside a Victoria's secret bag and left it in my office until my medical office was open. It was great hearing all the screams when people would open it.

Anyways, not suprising about the doll. I'm sure there will be a drug addict barbie soon.

It IS technically a biohazard (and we have to treat it as such at the hospital and keep it in a separate fridge where there is no food), so I do see his point as well as yours.  I wouldn't want it next to my dinner unless it was double-bagged, or better yet, in a sealed lunch box or something.  From a biohazard standpoint, it is no different from any other body secretion.  You never know what cooties other people are carrying.   [puke]

And why would you give your kid a breastfeeding doll?  That's just as gross as the doll my cousin had when I was a kid, where you fed it and then it crapped it's pants.  Who comes up with this stuff?  Dolls and biological functions do not go together (Bella excluded, because she is a DMF'er, after all).

I think the pole dancing doll is a good thing, it shows girls that they can be more then just wifes, beer-fetchers and baby makers.
It shows them career options with out putting silly ideas in their head about education (as long as they are hot of course)

As far as storing human milk in a work fridge, thats not right as nitewaif said it is a bio hazard and there would be little difference between storing blood or milk. Blood born diseases like HIV are carried in milk.
Would you be just as content if I was storing sperm near your lunch.

Not even worth responding to.

It's always noble in considering the best for anyone's baby, but I managed a doctor's office and medical building and we had to remind everyone that breast milk is in fact a health risk to others in the community fridge.

Breastfeeding while infected with HIV is not advisable in developed countries as you risk infecting your child with it, so if there is breastmilk in the community fridge it's not going to be infected. As for treating it as a bio-hazard, hospitals and the like HAVE to treat any bodily fluid as such. That doesn't mean breastmilk is in itself a hazard. There are countries like Mongolia that treat breastmilk like liquid gold and mama's frequently share it with other kids, their husbands, and frequently at work someone will check the community fridge and find half of their pumped milk gone. So really it's just a perception that human milk is gross or a hazard. If it was really such a health risk would we really be feeding it to our kids, or hell, even share breastmilk with babies who's mama's can't produce enough? (Which DOES happen here, frequently)

That in mind, I don't necessarily agree with that doll nor would I buy it for any child of mine, but this thread is supposed to be about the pole dancing doll which I definitely will never buy.

That worked out well, didn't it?

Pole-dancing doll: I'd have one in my cubicle. If I had a cubicle. Wouldn't buy it for a kid.

Then there's always the "Skank" doll, hours of fun when you're bored at the office.
