Title: Snowflake rotors on a monster 750
Post by: Frosty_spl on September 08, 2009, 06:13:05 PM
I bought my 02 750 about a month ago, and I just got rotors tonight that were promised to me when I bought the bike.

It turns out they are the "snowflake" rotors that were on the older superbikes and monster s2r ( i think) and not the same ones that are on the bike stock.

The stock rotors say min 3.5mm thickness, and the snowflakes say min 4.5mm thickness. The snowflakes are noticeably thicker. The diameter looks to be the same.

Will the snowflake rotors fit on my bike?

Assuming they are both 6 bolts they should...I've always been under the impression that all ducati 6 bolts besides the weird 15mm offset rotors bolt up.  I'm sure somebody with first hand knowledge of this will chime in soon ;).

Yes they are both 6 bolt. I hope they bolt up, they look sweet.  ;D

Those should bolt right on.

Be prepared for the rotor bolts being a problem.
Put a flat-ended punch down in the bottom of the hex in the bolt head, and give it a moderate whack with a hammer.
Make sure your socket/driver is in good shape, and fits snug.

They should fit on no problem. The snowflakes are better if you are hard on your breaks, they are thicker and will withstand warping a lot better than the ones you have on there now.

Do the rotor bolts not seat themselves all the way in, is that the reason for the punch and hammer?

I meant for removing the old bolts, sometimes they don't want to come out.
