Title: Bolts

I'm swapping over to radial mount calipers that are normally on 310mm rotors but I'm bumping them up to 320's so I've installed 5mm spacers.  Here's my dilemma, I need longer rotor bolts specifically sized at m10x1.25x75mm and I can't seem to find anything ANYWHERE besides like full on titanium setups.  I'm not looking to pay $70 dollars for 4 bolts, just need some regular old stainless ones and preferably from somewhere here in the states as I'm not looking to wait on shipping.  Anybody know of any suppliers who would carry something like this?

McMaster is the place to go
They are 80mm so you might need to trim em. Do not get stainless bolts for your break hardware. Compared to steel grade fastners they have a lower sheer straight. That's why most mfg use zinc plated ( to stop rust) steel fasteners (no to mention they are cheeper).

If you get A4 stainless instead of the common A2 it approximates the shear strength of 10.9 bolts, which is what is installed at the factory.

12.8 are available as well, and you can find them with the Dacromet finish which looks like brushed stainless and is chemical/rust proof.

i dont think you need 12.8, dont bother going out of your way to find it. 10.8 is perfectly fine.

If not mcmaster then fastenal is always good.

316 stainless has a shear modulus of 11.9... pro-bolt has been able to help me out thus far.

indeed they do. that's where i've been getting my stuff.
i love the tapered socket head 316 stainless bolts they have. Can't seem to find those anywhere else.
i will say, however, that if you need your bolts fast, this is probably NOT the place for you...

Reviving this topic... I'm ordering some bolts from mcmaster-carr to replace the zinc plated stuff thats gone all white and corroded. Should I get 8/18 stainless or 316 stainless? There's a pretty serious price difference between the two alloys and I wonder how much it matters in this application.

18-8 is fine for most bolts on your Duc.

8-18 is an SAE bolt.

Metric bolts come in A2 or A4

I was ordering replacement bolts for everything... engine covers, caliper mounting bolts, switchgear bolts... pretty much anything.

I meant 18-8 or 316... I transposed the first numbers.

The original caliper bolts are 12.9 and either yellow cadmium or white cadmium coated.

The cadmium coating is hard to get aftermarket.  There are other coatings which are superior (i.e. Dacromet).

I would not use anything less than 12.9 on the calipers.  I have seen people use the 10.9 which is probably ok, but I have always replaced with 12.9 alloy.

mdmetrics usually has the 12.9 with dacromet, but the heads are big depending on your use.

For the other items -- engine covers, switchbear, etc.. i would use good quality stainless, but nothing exotic.

you just dont' want those calipers to break.. :-)
