Title: What's this thingy and what does it do? Post by: Goat_Herder on September 13, 2009, 08:24:17 PM I was working on adding an oil cooler to my M620 this weekend. After putting everything back together in working order, I went out for a quick ride to see if the oil cooler was functioning correctly. After a 10 minutes ride, I got home and realized that this thingy wasn't even plugged in. ??? What is this thingy for anyway? Thanks.

Post by: He Man on September 13, 2009, 09:42:17 PM i believe it controls the injectors... cause my RB3 unit plugs into. if its not, then i can only guarentee that it is a port for plugging something important into... :)
Title: Re: What's this thingy and what does it do? Post by: zarn02 on September 13, 2009, 09:55:17 PM Well, a look at the parts guide (http://issuu.com/ducatiomaha/docs/m620ie_usa-02 (http://issuu.com/ducatiomaha/docs/m620ie_usa-02)) tells us that it's a sensor.
What it senses, I'm not sure. Perhaps a temperate sensor, or pressure? *shrugs* If you give it a bit, someone smarter will come along and enlighten us all. Title: Re: What's this thingy and what does it do? Post by: Simon on September 13, 2009, 10:29:24 PM its a temperature sensor.
Title: Re: What's this thingy and what does it do? Post by: zarn02 on September 13, 2009, 10:46:50 PM its a temperature sensor. Now we know. And, in the immortal words of G.I. Joe, knowing is half the battle. Title: Re: What's this thingy and what does it do? Post by: corey on September 14, 2009, 04:03:15 AM Now we know. And, in the immortal words of G.I. Saw the title of the thread and can only thingk of Arnold saying "Who is your daddy and what does he do" [laugh] [laugh] LOL, that's what I was going for. I can't imagine it running very well with the cam sensor disconnected. The bike was running just fine with it disconnected. It even registered temperature. Weird... I wonder if there is any other temperature sensors and the reading is the average or the highest temperature. Title: Re: What's this thingy and what does it do?
