Going to Denver next week for work. Any bars/restaurants that should not be missed? One of my co-workers wants to try that 7 lb breakfast burrito from Man Vs Food.
Ask 20 different people and you'll get 20 different answers. Are you staying in the city? Tech Center? A surrounding city/town?
Breakfast: Snooze (2 locations)
Lunch: This is wide open. You can get a great, cheap meal from a vendor cart on the 16th St. Mall or spend a small fortune at a nice restaurant.
Steak place: Elways (they also have the BEST service), The Keg, McCormicks
Burger joint: Cherry Cricket
Restaurants w/patios, balconies and/or great views: Lola's, Cherry Cricket, Hyatt Regency Denver.
Plenty of us on the MHM (Mile High Monster) board who can help direct you.
Most importantly: Thursday nights at The Garage on Bannock St. You might get to meet quite a few of the local DMF'ers. [thumbsup]
PM any of us for more info.!
And Mommy's Lil Monster will even make you a PBR Beermid!!!
That bohemian place you and Randy took me to was pretty darned good...and I will second the Cherry Cricket...

need to try that next time im up there
The Hornet. Yes, another great joint.
Falling Rock Tap House - 69 taps plus many other [drink] on hand.
Staying at the Westin. I heard that Elway's had good people watching.
We have a $55 per diem so we try to eat cheap and drink well.
I fly out at 5 on Thursday, otherwise I would stop by and say hi.

Westin Downtown, I'm assuming?
If so, you're a block off 16th Street Mall.
If you go to Elway's you need to go to the one in Cherry Creek, not the one at the Ritz Carlton.

Sullivan's, Gallagher's, Morton's...
Something a little more unique... The Buckhorn Exchange.

That's not eating on the cheap.

And Elway's is?
Oh, there are ways...
Eat in the bar at Sullivan's... $10 steak. (Been a few years, might have gone up a couple bucks)
Morton's does have a few decent happy hour specials.
McCormick's also has a good happy hour.
In reply to the title of the thread, Brandon Stokely's hands.
;D
Out of curiosity:
a few years ago, they shot the Real World in Denver.
They always went to this district with a shit ton of bars with patios, eateries, etc.
Is that 16th St area?

That house is located at 19th St. and Market St., in the LODO (Lower Downtown) area. That area kind of connects Coors Field with the 16th St Mall and the rest of Downtown. Falling Rock Tap House that I mentioned earlier is one block over from that house, which is now a bar/restaurant.
Is this 16th St Mall really a mall or just an outdoor type area that is a mall, but with bars, restaurants, etc?
Only flown into denver and driven through on my way to Summit County
It's a pedestrian mall, although a shuttle bus does provide free service on the street.
Bars, Restaurants, shops, hotels, and even high rise residential exist on the Mall now.
and I am sure the housing isn't "cheap" either

There are still at least two low income buildings within a couple blocks of the mall.
By Manhattan/San Francisco standards, bargins abound. ;D

This is a new tower 2 blocks from the Mall. http://www.spiredenver.com/ (http://www.spiredenver.com/) I used their configurator and built a 1,300 sf 2-bedroom place with garage and storage space for $420K.
