Title: 2010 Monster 696 w/ ABS
Post by: bluemoco on September 14, 2009, 03:12:01 PM
Does this count as one of Ducati's "new" 2010 models?  ABS would be a nice feature to have....

www.motorcyclenews.com (http://www.motorcyclenews.com/MCN/News/newsresults/New-bikes/2009/September/sep1109-Ducati-Monster-696-ABS-on-sale-in-2010/?&R=EPI-118375)

Quote:  Ducati’s entry-level Monster will get ABS in 2010, making it the only current Ducati to use anti-lock technology, and an even better first big bike. Leaked documents reveal the new system carries no weight penalty, but is expected to push the price of the £6195 to around £6500. A non-ABS 696 will continue to be available.

So far we have seen 3 2010 models released..

Nicky Hayden 848
Streetfighter
M696

Our first 2010 696 arrived last week and from what we can spot it now has adjustable brake and clutch levers (same m/cyl) new bigger exhaust guards on the top of the cans extending a bit rearward to a point.  Both those and the one on the header are now black.  Biggest change is the use of the new vacuum formed engine cases like the 848. 1198, F1098 & M1100..  oil filter is completely visible and I am led to believe there may be a slight weight savings..  no price increase at this point.

Which is due out for the Milan bike show.
Interested to see what it will look like and if will still carry the same feelings as the Multi.
