Title: Re: GoAZ Motorcycles Ducati Day (Oct 17, 2009) Post by: Michael on September 23, 2009, 11:13:52 AM So is the thing this Saturday and not October 17th?
And is Chris McNiel performing, or just showing up? It says "guest appearance" so I'm guessing the latter. I suppose we'll get email announcements etc....

So ... I'm planning on going to this tomorrow first thing. Although, I might be taking the kids to watch the stunt team (and not riding over there). Title: Re: GoAZ Motorcycles Ducati Day (Oct 17, 2009) Post by: pennyrobber on October 17, 2009, 10:48:29 AM I showed up around 10:00. Pretty nice shop. Didn't demo anything as they were booked up for several hours. Watched the stunt show, good stuff. After that, hooliganed on home.
Title: Re: GoAZ Motorcycles Ducati Day (Oct 17, 2009) Post by: Dietrich on October 17, 2009, 12:53:37 PM Stunt riders were great! Suprising how little modifications were done to those Hypers. No crash cages, etc., just huge rear sprokets, frame sliders, little steps for your feet on the seat and one bike had a wheelie bar. Sat on a couple bikes, then went over to the Honda shop and looked at some weirdness over there for a bit.

I've gotta keep myself away from that place. Title: Re: GoAZ Motorcycles Ducati Day (Oct 17, 2009) Post by: Michael on October 17, 2009, 04:58:09 PM I was there with the kids, they absolutely loved it. The stunt guys signed posters for everyone. (on my son's poster, the guy wrote "Go fast" but it looks more like he wrote "Go fart").
Anyway, I came back later by myself and rode a GT 1000 (non sport). Chris was there, too. It was a pleasant little trip. The GT 1000 is nice, smooth, and a fun bike to ride. It's no where near as powerful and sexy as a Monster. But few are. I think the GT would make a nice beginner bike for my wife. A dyno chart of the GT and your monster might have you singing a different tune. When I'm on my Monster, listening to the tune of my Leo Vince exhaust as it sings the tune of the Ducati twin, I feel like I'm riding the best motorcycle on the road....the Ferrari of motorcycles! Who cares what a dyno says, there's no way that the dyno would make me feel any different than I already do when I ride. [moto] You know, I wouldn't mind doing a dyno run sometime for the mere fact of the fine tuning. I'm due for a valve check and belt adjustment anyway....plus my bike has been running a little rich for a while now, so it might help a little. [beer] |
