Title: Rear Brake dragging
Post by: ducmon695 on September 16, 2009, 09:52:33 AM
I have a 07 695...only mod is cored cans...I noticed that my rear brake was making a sound when I would move it around(not running) kind of squeek sound.  So I pulled my rear break and noticed that the outside pad was completly warn down, but the inside one wasn't...So I replaced the pads and when i was doing that I cleaned the caliper with brake cleaner and then got some high temp lube and lubed up the pistons.  I am still hearing the dragging noise.

Any suggestions?  do i need to replace the caliper?

Thanks

'07?  Isn't the bike still under warranty?  If so, bring it to the dealer.  Yes, it seems one piston is not retracting.  If cleaning does not help a new caliper is in order.

It was out of warranty in May.  Of course the problem didn't surface until about a month ago...figures.
