Title: Need to replace my handlebars - S2R 800
Post by: orangelion03 on September 18, 2009, 02:35:31 PM
After my first ride today...about 100 miles total...I have come to the realization that I'm not as limber as I used to be.  The bars are too low for me.  I purchased a set of risers which I have yet to install, but dont think they will be enough.

Does anyone sell tapered bars with more rise?  Or are there adapters that allow the use of constant diameter bars in the Ducati clamps?

Molto grazie!!

Do you have the 1.25" risers?  If so, give them a try.  You might be surprised at how much of a difference they make.  That was the first mod I installed on my Monster.

Hi,

Congrats on the new bike [thumbsup]  I have a set of Magura bars from a MV Brutale that when used with the risers you have should be awesome.  The MV bars have a little more rise & more pullback than the OEM bars & a better angle for the wrists as the sweep back instead of having that akward forward bend like the OEM's.  They're yours if you pick them up or pay the shipping [thumbsup]  I'm in Torrance.

They are also a nice silver which IMHO looks better that the bronze color of the OEMs.  The only modification necessary is to file the nubs off of your starter & blinker switches as the bars have holes in different places.

Rizoma bars are about two inches higher and with considerable sweep back.

Received the bars from Gus yesterday.  Thanks Gus!!!

They look great, but I think the brake/clutch lines are too short to allow the use of risers and tall bar.  The risers alone dont cut it, but I'm going to try using just the bar and see if the rise and sweep combo might be enough.  If not, it's off to buy a new set of lines...
