Title: Anyone tried a Givi universal windscreen Post by: jerrsun on September 21, 2009, 09:49:47 AM Howdy folks,
In my feeble and probably wasted attempt to turn my 696 into somewhat of a touring bike, I have looked high and low for a decent windscreen. My latest find was the Givi universal windscreen: http://www.giviusa.com/Screens--spoilers/Universal-screens/ (http://www.giviusa.com/Screens--spoilers/Universal-screens/) Does anyone have any experience with any of these screen. I am particularly interested in how well the fit on a 696 with Rizoma handle bars and it they actually provide good wind and buffeting protection. Thanks in advance for any info. When I first got my Monster, I bought a used Givi A760. It worked great. Plenty of wind protection for chest and shoulders. The screen curves up in the end and re-directs the wind right at the face level. I would tuck a little bit and I'd be out of the wind. Helps a lot of the noise and fatigue. Not so good: The windshield is way too big. Doesn't go with the lines of the bike and makes the front "too heavy", IMO. Kinda made my monster look like a crawfish. I took it off after awhile. I would think the all-clear screen would look better. Wind protect would be just as good. |
