Title: Motovation USA Frame Sliders are Da Bomb!
Post by: NekkedChic on September 21, 2009, 11:49:59 AM
Just had to post major KUDOS to Motovation USA frame sliders on my 696!   These things did their job and saved a LOT of damages-not even a tiny scratch on my Leo Vince pipes WHEW!

While at a rally in the mountains, we were missing a few from our HUGE group, so 4 of us decided to turn around and find them. A "Rescue Party" if you must.   They missed a turn, so we made a U-turn, no biggie.  I was last in line.  The guy in front of me started his Yewie and I began mine-except as he began to turn, he chopped his throttle and literally cut me off.  STill no biggie, but I knew immediately I was gonna end up wide. I made U-turn fine and DID end up wide, tires half on/half off grass. Still no biggie, just held in clutch, NO breaks, rolling until lousy 4 feet of grass were over but for some reason I cannot figure out, rear tire slipped, slamming front of bike and ME onto street, then sliding downhil toward huge ditch!   SO, I dug heels in and held bars and stopped slide halfway down embankment WHEW!   I shut bike off asap and was so pissed, was able to pick up my bike on this hill, and without tossing over on other side!  Understand, I can barely and am not "supposed" to lift a milk jug btw.  Then, bike started right up and I walked/drove it back up to street where I put kickstand down, ripped off helmet and smoked a well deserved ciggie, which is about when the boyz returned to find me standing there next to bike smoking LOL.

Anyways, shifter was bent to hell, clutch lever scratched badly, small ding in tank, but that is ALL!
These frame sliders wore down a bit, but are brilliant and I wanted to share this review, as embarassed as I am about whole thing and ANGRY cuz I just do NOT do stupid stuff like this EVER!   Tks for reading-if you are shopping for sliders, these are worth the money IMO!

Hi there - I am new to this - just got 696 white pearl - like yours - like some of the stuff you have done to the bike - I have ordered some "carbon" bits and a wack of "Rizoma" stuff - really liked the red bars on your bike - so I stole your idea - I am going to use the Ellise mirrors - lux grips  - both in natural and red bar ends - Pazzo levers in natural w/red clicker - dont know how the look will trun out - but wanted to introduce some more red - but not too much?? Oil cap red - back brake cylinder in red - some spools in red. I have changed already the front sprocket to 14 tooth - I was doing 120+ km's per hour in second (yes Im a Canuck EH!!) - hard to get up into 6th - I like the start better with the new sprocket.

Your pipes - what kind did you settle on - I'm looking at Termis - or something called Zark(I think) - supposedly the Termis add some performance??

Anyway - so far I love the bike  - what a blast!!!!!!!- too bad it's winter here soon!! It will have to be tucked away for winter - but then I can crack out my sled and ride the snowy trails!!!!! - No speed limit on frozen lakes!!!!
