I was at cycle gear the other morning and started to chat with this kat about adventure riding.   I stepped outside and had a smoke and there was an amazing Ford GT.  Of course it was the guys i was talking to.  I proceeded to watch him drop about 3k on gear like it was chump change.  Some guys have all the luck. :-\   I know its not Italian but i had to take a couple pics.   Now just have to figure out how to crop the sweet Ford Ranger.    [cheeky]

The Camaro's great and all but come on...  :P

The GT may be a collaboration of parts from numerous manufacturers who hate each other resulting in one unreliable bastard child of a supercar... but damn it's still good.  [bow_down]

hmmm...$40,000 Chevy Camaro sports car..... pretty awesome

$150,000 Ford GT super car.... completely in another league (and sorry, but much more awesome)

They are neat cars but they suck trying to get out of.  >:(

read a review from a guy who went to push the start button ... button fell away inside the
dash.  had to remove the dash to repair.

However, as documented on Top Gear and in his column in The Times newspaper, his GT was delivered late, and had ongoing problems with its official UK importer fitted (aftermarket) anti-theft alarm [3] According to Clarkson, the alarm would activate while he was in the car, and sometimes activating every 15 or so minutes for an extended period of time. This led Clarkson to return it to Ford in June 2005 for a full refund - however, he subsequently bought the car back less than 2 months later.

Yet he still bags on them whenever he gets a chance.  ;)

Clarkson cries and moans about American cars.  If it were a Ferrari, he would have no problem with it what so ever.  The Ferrari could piss motor oil on him ever time he sits in it and he'd having a hard on.

He was pretty complimentary of the GT for quite a while. It wasn't until his ownership experience that he bagged on them, and even then he let it go on far longer than usual.

He does rag on American cars as a rule, and it makes sense that he would. American cars are largely built for the American marketplace and don't really match up with the European environment. Then again, he also rags on a LOT of other cars unless they go really fast or would look good with Kristen Scott-Thomas in them.

I just remembered I had these in my phone so I had to share...

I made a "house call" to a customer's garage to help install some body parts I painted for his car. When I arrived I walked in with an armful of buffers, compounds, tools, etc. He graciously took some of the load off my hands and set it on the car next to the one we were working on (it was obviously covered). For a moment I payed no real mind and got to work on his car, just asking him for the tools I needed. He tossed a plastic toolbox onto the trunk of the car, flipped it open and began laying out all these tools right on the car. Being a painter I started to look at him with a subjective eye... then I noticed the shape of the car, and the striped cover. "Is that what I think it is?" I asked. Yep, he was using his GT as a workbench.  [bang]

Oh yeah..I like the circular window on the side.  Added touch for the small blind spot a driver may have..similar to the classic T-Bird.

That's the equivalent of using a 1098R as a saw horse.  "ummm, would you mind clamp down the 2x4 to this red shiny thingy with 2 wheels so I can make this cut?  Appreciate it."

I have a friend who uses his Ferrari as a shelf for all his motorcycle parts.

Makes sense to me. I wouldn't pile stuff on a car I expected to actually start......

The GT (and maybe a Vette) are the only major manufactured American Cars I think I would own.  There are a few specialty cars I would like to own.


....oh yeah, I'd kill for a Shelby Cobra-replica or not.
