Not exactly the international capital of the world... but we handled it just fine. [leo]
I think this picture pretty much sums up the entire event.
This guy got interviewed by the Daily Show...

Go Pens. [evil]
Yeah, I was expecting way more violence. Nothing really. A few broken windows. Really? You guys came all that way to break a few windows? The lobby of my building (US Steel Tower (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/U.S._Steel_Tower)) has HUGE windows in the lobby - 15x30 or so. I figured those were going to be gone when we got back today. But no, you could barely tell that there was a major international conference there. Kinda boring. Though I did get to "work" from home for the week. :)

So... nobody cared?
I always thought those G20 summits were a joke anyway.
Do they ever actually accomplish anything?
It's the dog and pony show for deals that have already been worked out ahead of time. Protesters get to sound off, leaders get dinner and local economy gets a boost feeding the bigwigs and cleaning up after the protesters.

Pretty much guaranteed that it's a joke if they are having it in the burgh...
oktoberfest is about as international as it gets round these parts...
the summit in London was intense. There's some pretty intense footage on youtube of police responses that I find truly scary. I'll limit what I'm saying for forum decorum, and take my answer off the air.

Well stated [thumbsup]
I heard on the news it looks like we might be doing it again in 3 years. We did too good of a job.
