Title: Re: Riding weather Post by: redxblack on October 02, 2009, 07:58:24 AM This reminds me to visit my local ducati dealer to purchase some warmer gloves. For me, riding weather ends when ice forms.

Title: Re: Riding weather Post by: 1KDS on October 02, 2009, 03:11:00 PM 50* today in eastern nebraska, I'm not ready for this. The highs this weekend will be 62 and 63, I'm going to ride as much as possible.
Title: Re: Riding weather Post by: scooby on October 02, 2009, 03:53:21 PM Rain has showed up here in the Pacific NW... sigh Piff, a little rain is alright... It's when its cold (less then 40) and wet. I've been riding everyday in some rain right now (also PacNW) and have no problem with getting wet. Will continue for at least another month or so. Title: Re: Riding weather Post by: He Man on October 02, 2009, 04:02:09 PM This reminds me to visit my local ducati dealer to purchase some warmer gloves. For me, riding weather ends when ice forms. +1, litterally too. If its 20 degrees out and theres no ice. then its a good day to ride! Title: Re: Riding weather Post by: DoubleEagle on October 02, 2009, 06:52:37 PM Once the roads have been salted or treated for snow , I'm done.
Dolph :) Title: Re: Riding weather Post by: ArguZ on October 02, 2009, 10:46:41 PM Same here...rain or low temps dont scare me away...
But as soon as they start to throw salt or dirt its over... Sigh....one more month....max Title: Re: Riding weather Post by: DoubleEagle on October 04, 2009, 08:53:53 PM Just got an update on the 7 day forecast.
Next Sunday there is a chance of a rain / snow mix in North Eastern, Ohio. The projected high temp for where I live is to be 48 next Sunday in South Eastern , Ohio . Dolph :( Title: Re: Riding weather Post by: WetDuc on October 05, 2009, 04:44:22 AM Tallahassee riding weather is just getting good! No more sweating. It will get a bit chilly in Jan/Feb, though, so I doubt I will do much riding then. Didn't ride today, though...it was pouring when I woke up and is predicted to drop about 1"-1.5" today! :o
Title: Re: Riding weather Post by: somegirl on October 05, 2009, 06:42:30 AM 40's in the morning, 70's in the afternoon, rainy season hasn't really started yet. [thumbsup]
Title: Re: Riding weather Post by: grunte on October 05, 2009, 09:42:35 AM Wow, I must be a fair weather rider then! I dont have the proper gear to ride in the cold...I have been spending all my $$ on the bike itself. I should invest in some gear....its just sooooooo expensive!

You wouldnt expect that in Florida. Title: Re: Riding weather Post by: ProTeal55 on October 05, 2009, 10:18:25 AM The Chicago riding season is quickly coming to an end.
Was in the mid 70's last week, now not said to break into the 60's this week... Gotta love it [thumbsup] Title: Re: Riding weather Post by: Doctor Woodrow on October 06, 2009, 10:41:41 AM Rain has showed up here in the Pacific NW... sigh Umm, so? Sorry, I guess that could sound unkind, but it's been good riding weather for ten years straight (minus about 8 snow/ice days) here in the portland OR area. Get good gear and the season doesn't have to stop, you just have to prepare better. If I didn't ride when it rained I would only ride three months out of the year. The Doc |
