Please stop throwing your lit butts out of the window while you're driving, especially when there is a motorcyclist behind you.  That's all I'm saying.  I used to smoke, but I got the "smoker's option package" for my car back then (ashtray).  Thinking that a cigarette butt will make your car smell any worse than it already does, is a farce.  Oh... and lit butts melt textile jackets, and start forest fires.

This really really pisses me off.  I always try to get next to someone and let them know that they shouldn't throw something that is on fire out their window especially when I person who could easily be killed by dropping their bike when said piece of flamming paper hits them. 

A butt is better than the bag of Burger King trash that whacked me a couple of weeks ago.

Why do they save them all up in the ash tray and then dump them in a parking lot.   >:(   Or a few years ago out the window while I'm riding behind them.   [puke]

I live out in the sticks and have a really l o n g drive way.  I headed out on day to find a car at the end with a 'lady' pitching butts out the window.  So I get out of my car (still on my property) and pick them up and deposit them through the window and on her lap and tell here to leave.  She said a lot of bad words and me a drove off flipping them out as she left.   

As long as we are talking about smokers. 

Guys, if you're going to smoke a cigar, pony up for a good one and leave the cute little ones with the plastic tip for the 16 year olds.

I had a guy throw his chew at me a little while ago omw back to my room. He sped up, checked me out in his rear view mirror and tossed his chew at me. So I road raged, sped ahead of him, then matched speeds with the slow car in front of him. Oh glorious road rage. [bang]

Actually, I don't smoke anymore and never tossed butts when there were riders behind.  The rest of the time?  Sure, sometimes.

Yup.  I also sometimes don't separate the compostable material from the regular trash as required by local ordinance, and occasionally get groceries in a plastic bag.  <shrug>

I got hit once - years ago when I was a smoker myself.  I got pretty mad at the guy but decided to pull over and make sure it wasn't burning me, my gear or my bike instead of going after them.

Other than that, I've had a few close calls.  Mostly from passenger windows.  I always want to grab cigarettes from people that are smoking and hanging them out the window - haven't done it yet.

On the topic of smokers... One thing that angers me more than this is riding past a car and getting a big whiff of pot from the driver toking on his bowl.

In CA they USED to have a number to call to report people throwing butts out the window. It doesn't work anymore though, and really only if you're in the car anyways.

Big differance between not being "green" and throwing trash out of your car window. I know you are smart enough to see the differance.

Follow them until they stop then tell them "Hey, I saw something come off your car back there. I'm not sure but it may be important. I think you need to go back and get it."

My good friend was doing the "ride across asia thing" , while following a bus in India he noticed
some bloke stick his head out the side of the bus.
Next thing that hits him is a lentil curry shower  [puke] all through his helmet and riding gear in 100 degree heat with a days riding to his next destination.
I still laugh everytime he tells me this story.

I hate it when people litter.  One night someone in front of throw their cigarette out the window and it hit the shield on my helmet.  The initial shock aside, it looked very cool when the sparks flew.

I was going to start a thread about it till I saw this. Man that pisses me off. I have friends who smoke and non of them smoke while driving let alone toss shit out there car.

Has nothing to do with cigarettes being lit.  It's make the beast with two backsing littering however you want to cut it.  I won't tolerate it if I have an opportunity to have a say. I give peeps shit if I catch em.  No body's ever bucked back hard enough to worry about.

On two occasions, while on the bike, I've stopped and picked up garbage that had just been cast out of a car, chased the car down, and pitched it back into the offending car - one convertible (easy) and one open window.

Pulled up next to a Pontiac full of partying young men and kicked in the door in after the cretins discharged a beer bottle out the car window that broke right in front of the front tire of my brand new Black and Gold 900 SS Bevel Drv. Ducai.  That shit pissed me off.

I think they got the picture - I hung around long enough to tell.

Anger.  I cant stand when people are not in a sober state when they are driving.  They don't see me often enough sober, its worse when they are high/drunk.

Are you seriously condoning drug use while driving or are you referencing the people that litter?

I carry a pocket full of marbles.  If a cig (or other trash) come out of their car at me I will drive in front of them and throw the marbles in the air.  Should leave some nice marks......
