I bled the brakes last night and on the way home noticed a clicking noise. Re-bled them this morning and still hear this noise. It is a clicking noise from the front left brake that ONLY occurs when you lightly squeeze the front brake lever...so lightly that the front suspension doesn't move. And there is only one click per lever squeeze. I never heard this until I bled them so it's kind of hard to accept that the pads would be moving after bleeding the brakes. Gonna take the caliper off tomorrow and check pad fitment but for now, the bike has great brakes but this noise is driving me nuts. Thanks.
Have you checked if the rotor is touching the caliper at a certain point? Or if the caliper is stuck and pushing the rotor against the opposite side of the caliper? Yes it happened to me, dammed cheap calipers[the small Brembo ones w/2 pistons].
The caliper is sitting over the rotor like it is supposed to...not sure how it would hit the rotor...Please explain further. Thanks.

Sorry, what I meant was, if the rotor is touching the caliper on the side that has no pistons; it could be that one or both pistons are stuck and in someway deflecting the caliper to the point where the rotor touches ta part of the caliper. Stand in front of the bike and turn the wheel[I asume you have a stand], listen and look at both calipers and rotors. As I said, it happened to me and had to dissemble the calipers and relube them and it will happen from time to time. According to the dealer[to whom I'm not taking the bike anymore], they got a 'note from Ducati' stating that this could happen under certain circumstances. Which, never told me. Now I'm saving for the Goldline calipers and 320mm rotors.
Thanks. I checked that out but it's not hitting the caliper. It seems like it may be one of the pistons getting hung up. Do I just lube the brake pistons?
Do you have the 2 piston small black calipers? S2R (800)?
If so, (if you didn't already know) the caliper is floating sideways to allow the pads on both sides to contact/push on the rotor. The inside pads aren't being pushed by pistons - the outside pistons push it's pad AND moves the caliper, including the inside pad.
This caliper movement is usually audible, but maybe it should be audible with harder braking as well ??? If it's not the caliper being a little stuck, needing cleaning and light greasing, it could be one or two pistons being a little stuck.
I'm no expert, but there is surely a way to "lube" them. If noone here tells you how, ask a shop?
So I believe this is the resolution. After taking apart BOTH calipers, cleaning, greasing, and reassembling, I think we found the problem. When putting the lower left side mounting bolt in, somehow the bracket had become threaded!!! Don't ask me how cause I had NEVER touched the brakes since I bought the bike until this noise occurred. I think since there were these threads, the caliper was not completely tightened down to the mount thus causing this clicking noise upon braking. Really the strangest thing me or my mechanic has seen. Anyways, we filed down this thread and mounted everything back up and there is no more noise. Thanks for all the help.
