well to start it off i have a ducati monster 750 dark 2001 and im having some electrical issues. i replaced the front blinkers with some stubby motrax and i blew the 7.5 amp fuse due to the connections touching the frame during install. replaced the fuse and everything was fine. later during the day i went ahead and swapped in some kNn dual filters on the carbs and rode it to a buddys house and left my lights on. So i ended up killing the battery and pop started down the hill at that time thats when i realized i ahd no blinkers what so ever nothing on that circuit works and the fuse is fine! My question is this.. i did a continuity check and that seems to be fine but How do i test the relay??? Is there anything else i should be checking?? kind of stumped.. Luckily my state dont require turn signals (you can use your hands) but still i would like them to work again! Wtf did i do???
Pull the flasher relay (3 prong). Ground terminal 31 on the relay. Feed voltage to terminal 49+. Place a test light between 49a. The test light should blink. It will blink faster than normal. In case the relay has been replaced already, the blue/black wire on the socket side is 49+, purple is 49a and the left over one is ground. Also check that you have power at 49+ and a good ground.
the flasher relay is not 4 prong?? shoot ive been messing witht he wrong one?? witch one is it?? there 3 relays on the bike right?? right under the seat

3 prongs, and if your signals were working, you'd hear it clicking
yea i was messing with the small black one . Alright cool , ill do my checks again with the haynes manual and howies test and report back.. ty
sorry to bring this back from the dead, but I'm trying to determine if I have a faulty flasher. When I hook up my volt meter I get 11 volts on the 49+ and when I test the 49a I also get 11 volts. If I turn the signal switch on it drops to 7.5 volts but there is no clicking of the relay or fluctuation in voltage. Is it dead? smells kind of cooked.
Dead. You can match it at any auto parts store.

well that was a no go. I just tried a new relay, and still no signals or clicking. If I take the plastic cover off the relay and manually push the little actuator inside, I do get left and right signal. While this is all happening, I'm not getting any signal flash on my speedo cluster. I'm ruling out the switch on the bars, since I get a directional signal when I manually push the actuator. Could it be a bad ground? Really getting flustered. Argggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh......

You may want to check that the relays are the same. I vaguely recall replacing a relay and I had to connect it other than stock.

well the mfg. of the relay I got is from Tridon. Got it at the local auto parts store. The pin positions and numbers on the pins are the same as the one that came out of my bike (I'm assuming its the original. Made by Guerila (Spain) ). I'm really not sure what the heck is going on. Would it have anything to do with the DP performance cluster I installed? Why am I not getting any indicator on the speedo cluster?
Does the DP cluster have an internal flasher?

I dont believe it does. I think the newer Monsters have something built into the cluster.
???
alright here's an update. My original relay is toast. The replacement I got works, but not with the LED's intergrated into my tail light (clear alternatives). I hooked up a traditional signal bulb and voila I get left and right flashing signal. I plug in the LED signal wire inline with the traditional bulb and I still get flashing signals on both the bulb and LED. I still dont get any indicator flash on my speedo cluster, so I'm going to assume the bulb inside the cluster is pooched.
Now I know many members here have a Clear Alternatives intergrated LED tail light, so what exactly did you do to get the signals to work. The replacement relay I got is a Tridon brand EP35. Clear Alternatives website says that resistors are not needed and its plug and play. The resistors will only slow the flashing. If I do need resistors, which ones do I use? I really need to get this done so my bike is legally roadworthy and I can begin riding. Its been a long winter working on this thing. Can someone help me out.
thanks
Where's all the help?? Is anyone going to chime in?
