Title: Need plumber/electrician-suggestions? Post by: Popeye the Sailor on October 03, 2009, 09:29:08 AM Anyone have any good experience with a local plumber/electrician? I need both. Please recall I live out by La Honda (AKA middle of nowhere). Thanks!

I need someone legitimate here-I need a new box in the loft and a new line dropped from the street. Title: Re: Need plumber/electrician-suggestions? Post by: Spidey on October 03, 2009, 09:58:54 AM I have an licensed electrician who lives on the Penninsula who has done/is doing work for us. He's not bargain-basement, but his quotes are decent and he's contientious. If you're interested, shoot me a PM.
DanTheMan does (used to do) electrical work on the side too, but he's not licensed AFAIK. Title: Re: Need plumber/electrician-suggestions? DanTheMan does (used to do) electrical work on the side too, but he's not licensed AFAIK. PM sent. DanTheMan does, but according to him this is beyond his scope, so I need to find someone else. It may get complex too, as I need some of the circuit to still come from my house, so that I can keep the pump running for the well (the emergency generator is in the house). The joys of the sticks. I'll be ready for the zombie apocalypse. Title: Re: Need plumber/electrician-suggestions? Post by: mostrobelle on October 03, 2009, 10:09:59 AM Ask your neighbors for referrals. They're the most reliable resource for good workers in your area. If you go onto some of those online resources--places with names like "Plumbers Network"--you can usually get three bids from reputable places with testimonials. I just got a great quote on a new roof that way. You're going to pay a premium for your location. The work you want to have done isn't all that complicated--in fact, it's the norm for folks living out in the boonies. Don't let anyone tell you differently or charge you too much for it.
